Husky 125B blower, new right out of the box. starts, runs about 30 sec, bogs and quits. I'm guessing likely needs carb adjustment, but set screws are not regular slotted screws. Looks like it requires a special tool. Suggestions?

needs a proper carb adjustment for starters

You need a special carb screw tool for Walbro carbs. Readily available from eBay, search ''Carb Adjusting Tool for Partner/Husqvarna''

hello ,your engine is a tecumseh HMSK90-156525D, Sounds like carb. may need adjusting. Take the heat box off to expose carb. the heat box is the metal box surrounding the caeb., there should be 2 adjustment screws- 1 on the bottom of the bowl and 1 on the side of the carb just above the edge of the bowl ( depending how the carb sets off the engine - if the carb comes straight out it will be on the side facing towards the front of the snow blower or if it goes towards the handles then standing other side of the snow blower the screw will be facing you), turn both screws in til they just bottom out the turn them out 1 1/4 turns out then start the machine. While the machine is running at low idle turn the screw on the side of the carb. in (clockwise) a little at a time listening for the engine to start to rev up and then start to rev down, bog or studder then turn back slightly to bring idle back up. Once the idle is up then the screw on the very top of the carb. turn that out to lower idle to a normal idle. Repeat those adjustments till you cant get the idle to go up anymore. Now for the screw on the bottom of the bowl- move the throttle up to max and turn the screw in till you hear it rev up higher and starts to bog or sputter then turn it back slightly to bring the high rev to a smooth rev. That should take care of it. If it does not solve it then the carb may need cleaning then the adjustments done again. If you need more help on this please feel free to ask. THEgas cap is bad. Ethanol in gas cause the rubber vent to go bad and not vent gas tank causing a vacume in tank.

I think a new carburetor kit and a good carburetor tune up is in order my friend. Sounds like it's starving for gas. If it bogs down after warm up when you throttle it, then yes it needs a carb tuning. The L screw is the low side screw and should be turned in lightly until it seats then back it out one and quarter turns (1 1/4). The H screw is your high speed screw. Also, turn it in lightly until it seats, then back it out approximately a 3/4 turn. With these settings the unit should start and may even stay running. Again, if it bogs when throttled, while running turn the L screw out a little more maybe only 1/16th of a turn and then try it again. If it does rev then you'll have to adjust the H screw in about a 1/16th of a turn. But make sure you only do this after the engine has warmed up.
