Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT

Installing a Nvidia GeForce 8500 onto a gateway GT4022 running Windows Vista.

The computer won't read the card and only the GEForce 6100 is visible in device manager.

I have removed the old drives and reinstalled the new ones, when I do that it needs to restart to finish the process.

I have turned off my Norton protection, uninstalled, reseated....

I had it working for a while yesterday, but when I woke up this morning my computer wouldn't wake from hibernation and the card wasn't working.

    What can I try.

Have you removed the old drivers and reinstalled the new ones... i.e right click GeForce 6100, uninstall, then reload the drivers you got with the GF 8500
