Epson Stylus Photo RX620 to HP Pavilion dv8230us (Windows XP Media Center Edition) HELP... PLEASE!!!! BSoD after clean install (scrolls fast ... says something like issues with new hardware installed ... memory dump ...) Installing from original CD "exactly" how instructed (i.e. CD install w/ printer disconnect .. attach via USB when asked....) ... only problem, once the RX620 attached, laptop reboots followed with a BSoD. Windows starts but can't connect to WiFi (???) ... I disconnect RX620 and reboot and Windows works great. Tried uninstalling, cleaning garbage left behind ... reinstalling ... keep getting same problem. Scanner stuff installs but printer stuff doesn't. After windows reboots and all is good ... I attach the USB, Windows states "new hardware found ... printer" ... goes through that process ... but printer won't install as the system restarts, BSoD appears and process starts over. Have tried many variaitons of installations ... if anyone has had this problem and found the cure ... I would SOOOOO appreciate your help as this is DRIVING ME INSANE. I had the RX620 installed on this laptop before ... I have no idea what's going on. Thanks a million!!!! Namaste!

At the link below, if you use the pull-down for Win 8 and then expand the "more info" link, you will find that Windows 8 has the drivers for this printer already incorporated. There are procedures listed for loading drivers manually id Windows 8 does not detect and load them automatically.

I use the Windows XP SP2 drivers with Win 7. Before installing them, right click on the driver file, select properties, select compatibility and the select Win XP SP2.

Please provide more details.....I'll assume you have an older computer with only the large parallel port to connect to a printer, but the new printer requirews USB printer connection.
If this is the case, unless your computer is VERY old, you should be able to buy a USB card to install in an empty PCI slot in your computer, and all should be fine. If you have Windows 98 you will probably have to install drivers.
