You should check the condensor first make sure it is not dirty. Inside and outside fan works.

1988 true GDM 33 its 100+deg. in my shop. Refrigerator is only cooling to @44 deg. is that about normal for the outside temp?

The unit is probably not designed to work in an ambient temp that high, probably 90-95 would be as hot as the manufacturer was thinking, however the age of this unit probably means the compressor valves are not sealing quite as well as they used to. this can cause a unit to never pull down all the way to proper temp. get as much air circulating to the unit to help draw heat away

We have a GDM-26 commerical coke machine. Only

If any of your drinks are freezing you need to adjust your temp setting. The suggested setting is 5. changing the temp setting basically tells the refrigerator to stop cooling when the temp hits a low degree, and to start cooling when it hits a high degree. This keeps your drinks not to hot, not too cold, but just right. If this doesn't work I would change the cold control altogether, it might've went bad. If you have a few minutes, locate the condensor fan (bottom) and make sure it is periodically turning on and off like it should.

Not cooling

It is more than likely that you are out of a refrigerant called R-22 hopefully that is all it is however the more expensive problem may be the compressor I had a problem with a kenmore refrigerator where the coils on the unit froze up I unplugged it for about 6 hours at room temperature about 70 degrees farenheit and it solved my problem however the general public cannot obtain R-22 you can buy the compressor and install it but the system must be relieved of freon (if any remains) it will save you time which is money when it comes to air conditioning techs the only thing they will have to do is fill the system up with R-22 good luck!
