Cant find motherboard specs. ________________________________________ Hello. I cannot find the specs for my motherboard. Its the comp in my sig and the model number is E946GZT-AM.V1.0 its whatever came in...

As requested motherboard specifications for the Acer Power FH desktop computer,

http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/0000/Acer/PowerFH/PowerFHsp2.shtml

1) Processor Support:
Tells you what Intel processors are supported.

If you do not know what you are looking at, let me know, I'll explain it.

Doesn't state it, but I can tell you that it has an LGA 775 processor socket.
Has to in order to support the Intel processors stated.

This is what an LGA 775 processor socket looks like,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_T

2) Ram Memory Support:
Has two ram memory slots.
Each slot has a Maximum Amount of 1GB.
Total Amount for the motherboard is 2GB.

Supports (Uses) DDR2 Sdram that operates at a frequency rate of either 533MegaHertz, or 667MHz.
Which is PC2-4300 and PC2-5300 respectively.

3) Motherboard Chipset:
Uses an Intel 946GZ Northbridge chipset, and a
Intel ICH7 Southbridge chipset.

The link below states what the Intel 946GZ/Intel ICH7 chipset will support,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Core_2_Chipsets

4) Graphics Support:

Has the Intel GMA 3000 GPU for Onboard (Integrated) graphics.
(When you use the VGA port on the back of the computer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA

( GPU stands for Graphics Processing Unit. Type GPU in Wikipedia's search box for more information )

Also has a PCI Express x16 slot for a graphics card.

This graphics slot uses the PCI Express 1.1 technology.

Looking back at the link for the Intel 946GZ/Intel ICH7 chipset you can see it was brought out in the 7th month of 2006.

(Release Date: 2006.07)

The PCI Express 2.0 technology was brought out
January 15, 2007.

If you're wondering, whether a graphics card based on the PCI Express 2.0 technology will work on it, the answer is yes with no sweat.

The reason why is that PCI Express 2.0 technology is Backward Compatible with PCI Express 1.1 technology.

You won't get the full capability of the PCI Express 2.0 graphics card.

Will you notice? NO.

Games and 3D programs haven't begun to scratch the bandwidth of PCI Express 1.1 yet, much less the PCI Express 2.0 technology.

(Look up PCI Express on Wikipedia.
Also check out the external links at the bottom of the page)

I'm guessing the form factor of the motherboard is ATX, but I am just guessing at this point.

I base my deduction on the fact that a PCI Express x16 slot, and a PCI Express x1 slot is used, plus there are two PCI slots. (All are Expansion Slots)

You have to have enough room for all this hardware, and I don't see a Micro-ATX form factor motherboard as having the room.

But you can easily check for yourself.

Micro-ATX is 9.6 inches by 9.6 inches.
(244mm by 244mm)
9.6 inches is approximately 9 and 9/16ths inches.

ATX is 12 inches by 9.6 inches.
(305mm by 244mm)

That's the main highlights of the motherboard. Is there anything else you wish to know about it?

If the computer is operational, and internet capable, you could go to CPUID.com, and download the tiny, little program CPU-Z.

It's free.
Gives you a real in-depth look at your computer hardware specifications, and what you have presently installed right now.

Should you need help in downloading it, or using it, let me know in a Comment.

How can I change the resolution from 1280 x 800? This is the highest possible according to the display setttings. I have removed the generic pNp monitor. I am running Vista Business. The display adapter is...

Graphics Unable to use the native resolution, such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050 and 1440x900 circuit388.gif Symptom(s):
On some displays, users may be unable to use the native resolution when using Intel® chipset graphics. Resolutions such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050, and 1440x900 are not available in graphics properties.

Cause:
The display's EDID is not read properly when connected to some digital flat panel displays. Display devices describe its capabilities by sending EDID (Extended Display Information Data) to the computer.

Solution:
Intel has released a graphics driver to specifically address this issue; however, there may be side effects to this solution such as longer than normal resume times from standby. This solution will only work with external displays such as DFP displays connected to the computer's VGA port. This driver is not designed to address issues with a notebook's built-in display (Local Flat Panel) or with TV’s connected to the system. This driver is provided as is. Intel has not tested, and does not guarantee, the operation of the driver for this purpose.
