I had a tech from the company who istalled the unit check the gas pressure and fan speed,he said they checked out properly. My warranty ended three months ago so they are trying to avoid fixing it.....I say it was an improper install or manufacture default. In your opinion ,do you think a problem in the existing duct could cause this problem as far as air draw?thx for the help

Most likely the cause is that the furnace is firing too hot. When a furnace is installed and set up, the manifold gas pressure and fan speed has to be set by the technician so that the temperature rise through the furnace is a maximum of 50 deg F (i.e. if air enters the furnace at 68 deg F it come out no hotter than 118). The target temperature rise on any gas furnace is anywhere between 30 and 50 deg F. If the furnace runs too hot, either the manifold gas pressure must be turned down or the fan speed must be turned up to keep in this range.

That is a possability. The big key is to measure the temperature difference through the furnace. Take a temp reading at the return vent and then take a reading at the closest vent to the furnace. Turn the furnace on and allow it to run for about 10min before checking temps so that the heat exchangers and duct work can get completely up to temp. If you are in the 30-50 range, then you are looking at install problem, mfr defect, or improperly paired equipment. Gas pressure doesn't really mean much if you are over temp. Natural gas normally runs at 3.5" water column in the manifold. I have a propane furnace. Propane runs at 10.5"wc in the manifold, but I fire my furnace at 8.5" to achieve the proper temperature rise.

Have Gibson furnace runs cycle but seems don't get hot enough out of vents check all 115 degrees at vents use to lot hotter old furnace you couldn't stand on vents now you can easily

Is this a gas furnace ? Newer high eff. gas furnaces do have cooler outlet temperatures. The installer should have checked the temperature rise and gas pressure. By adjusting the gas pressure and blower speed you can obtain a higher outlet temp, but you don't want the gas pressure to be higher than the manufacture specs and you don't want the furnace to run outside of the manufactures temp rise specs.

New goodman 80% gas furnace leaking condesation down exhaust vent

it could be condensation. or poor seal at roof. probably the seal at roof. also check the larger copper line is it sealed good? if any spot is not this will cause leaking when in cooling mode. maybe dripping from line onto vent.

What is the CO2 % of an 80% efficiency gas furnace and the CO2 % of a 90% gas furnace

Hello,You get between 10%-12% out of each. The efficiency rating difference is the flue gas(exaust) temperature! 90% furnace is much lower temp than any 80%.

Hi,
You would need to look at the warrenty of the product from the manufacturer of this whole unit. If they were purchased as individual parts then each manufacturer is responsible for their compinents.

However, you must have a warrenty on the product to be able to bear any responsibilty to the manufacturer.

If you do have a warrenty then they should up hold it, and they should also have a solution to the fault. It will be pointless to replace the tray only to have it reoccur again. It seems as though they have missed out putting a insulation of some sort between the heat source which evaporates the water in the tray.

Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Hi, I have a Carrier Weathermaster XS. I don't

If I am correct, that is a gas furnace, right? I believe it may be between 15 and 20 years. Pro-active with and older gas furnace is never a bad thing. First of all it can become a safety issue, as concerns of heat exchangers cracking and leaking carbon monoxide into the home become increasing. Second, it sure only be 80% efficient, whereas a new condensing furnace today can be up to 95% efficient. That means that you currently only use 80% of the gas you are burning as actual heat transferred into the house via airflow, and the other 20% is literally leaving the house through the flue. So you can increase efficiency dramatically and be safe at the same time by replacing pro-actively

Janitrol furnace-circuit board code giving 3 blinks vent pressure switch or vent blockage where do i check on system / furnace was running fine up to this point /turned it off for about 1hr. and when i...

f this is a metal vent 80% furnace,Turn Furnace off
and remove the vent that connects to furnace and see if it is plugged.

If this is a High Eff furnace witrh pvc vents for
exhaust and intake air make sure they are not plugged on the outside.

Turn thermostat all the way up,turn furnace off and
wait a few minutes. This should reset any control
board fualt.

Turn the furnace back on, if you have a glow coil
ignitor it should glow red and then the burners should
ignite. If this doesnt happen then:

On High Eff Furnace if the glow coil does not glow red, remove the combustion door to the burners,
turn furnace back on, if the glow coil glows and
burner ignites, you have an obstruction in the intake
air side. If it still does nothing then:

Use caution and remove the exhaust vent from furnace, start furnace, if furnace runs then you
have a problem with the vent system

My heat won't blow through the vents. The furnace ignites itself but it cuts off after a minute. I've sanded the flame sensor but it still won't work. What can I do now? I just want heat in this blizzard!

If the ignitor glows and the burners lite and then shut off, the flame sensor was the best place you could
start at.

If this is a reg gas furnace or a High EFF. furnace make sure your gas meter is not covered up with
snow.

Turn your thermostat all the way up, if the furnace
does this 3 times in a row-then it should go into
a lock-out mode. Has it done that?

On reg. gas furnace make sure your chimney is
not obstructed where it connects to the furnace.
If it is a High EFF furnace make sure the pvc exhaust
vent is actually venting. It should also have a pvc intake air vent make sure that is not clogged.

If it is a high eff furnace, turn unit off and remove
the door that covers the ignitor and burners. This is
usually a interior door with a sight glass in it. Turn
furnace on, if it lights and stays operating, then you have a problem with the intake vent

I have JANITROL GAS FURNACE that the MAIN LIMIT

First, replace the limit. What causes a furnace to cycle frequently would be either a malfunctioning thermostat, a shorted thermostat wire, a bad control or the thermostats heat anticipator is not set right.
