I think you upgraded from Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows Home Premium. In windows operating system you can only upgrade but can never downgrade an operating system. The best solution to this is to back-up your datas by either using a flash drive or burn CD's using your existing Home Premium system. After doing so, perform a clean format using DOS. Before doing so, gather all the CD installer that comes with your laptop like video, sound, LAN etc.. This is to install the drivers that will work with the new operating system.

Insert your Windows Vista Basic CD into the CD ROM drive and restart your computer.

It will autoboot from the CD and you can reinstall Vista Basic.

Should you have further problems don't hesitate to give more details.

The installdrv64.exe error indicates that the computer is installed with 32 bit Windows XP SP2 Operating System. Please unplug the Cellphone and re-install the PC Suite but do not install "installdrv64.exe" file as it is for 64 bit Windows XP Operating System. Im getting this error sir: "windows

Hello

This should be a fairly simple fix. In the bottom right corner, or when you boot up there should be a REGISTER SCREEN... When it fails it will offer you the opportunity to call Microsoft. Go ahead and give them a call, let them know the type of computer you have, what the fault is saying. They may ask you to call dell and get replacement software, but since EVERY DELL ever made came with an operating system they are usually pretty good at giving you assistance.

If they dont and they force you to call dell, they (dell) might charge you a few bucks for a new install cd, or they may let you download one. Either way your problem should be solved in an hour .

Best of luck

Good morning sir my computer configration is

Have you installed proper driver related to proper Operating System, if not download it from here

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng

search for the motherboard and then download it. Otherwise it might be a problem of sound card or speakers. Also check that the volume controller from the OS if it is in mute state or not.

If this doesnot solve your issue, give me a feedback with more details of the problem it will help to solve your issue.

there are several ways to format the harddrive but the easiest way is to use the operating system cd i.e xp home win me ect ect when you install it and the installation begins it will ask you about installing or repairing the current operating system select new installation than continue after a few steps it will it will show you your current partition and ask you about partitrioning the drive just click yes and continue from there dont be suprised if it asked you to install a nother valid operating system cd like win 98 or me so have one ready ok? itis needed to validate the authanticity of the cd than after this if will ask you to put the other cd in and it will continue to format the drive and install the operatring system ok this is almost exactly how this procedure occurs some things are self explanitory. ok i really hope that this is really helpful please let me know how this is going i can help more if needed ok and please dont forget to rate my solution

HP Recovery Disk Error

You said HP told you to do this. I would call them, ask for a supervisor and relate your story. Branding a hard drive takes software not commonly available to customers.
