Canon DR-2010C Flatbed Scanner Logo
Posted on Dec 06, 2010

I am scanning a document with a canon DR2010C into a program that uses a twain driver. The document scans fine, but the page looks blank. If I scan the document directly to my computer it looks fine.

SOURCE: Documents scanned as 256 grey scale/TIFF show up as black pages.

Grey as you know is different shades of black. Uncompressed TIF can store this information. Compressed TIFF is not designed for this. Compressed TIFF is for blck & white only. Try JPG option. JPG can compress Color & Grey. For pure black & white chose TIFF compression.

I havent used Canon 2580C and hence cant comment on Scan Panel. But you can download SU5000 or Captureperfect 2.0 from Canon website (http://software.canon-europe.com/). This is easy to use and probably offers more features as compared to ScanPanel. Canon 5010C is a higher model as compared to 2589C and Captureperfect may offer better user interface.

What scanning software do you use? Try downloading Captureperfect from http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0022439.asp?model= Select appropriate paper size or Scanners maximum. You can also select 'Actual size'.

SOURCE: Re: Canon CanoScan LiDe 90: I

I have many years experience repairing Canon scanners so here is my suggestion for you.

Well an easy way to do this is to scan them and save them as a word document if you can, or save them as a .txt (text) document some where on your computer. Then if you have the full version of Adobe go to where you saved them and convert them to a .pdf. But I think only the full version of Adobe will do this for you. There are free .pdf convertors if you google for them.

I hope this helps you out.

Scanning with Canon Pixma MP450

I just did it then! With help from solution posted Feb 08 leave the acual scanner alone can be done from the computer. Steps:

1. Go to - start - control panel - printers & hardware - scanners.
2. Once inside the scanners folder just click once on the scanner icon (mine is called WIA Canon) so it is highlighted.
3. Then click on the toolbar 'File' > 'scan', then select the correct program from the list (mine was MP Navigator 2).
4. Use the MP Navigator program to select "scan photo/document", follow the instructions. At the bottom if the window that is open you can change the document type to PHOTO or DOCUMENT!

This is where the problem lies it is scanning the document as a photo which is why it is coming out as multiple documents.
