Good morning, 2 small gnats introduce themselves under the cover of my Dell1720 laptop: can I easily remove these insects myself and how? Or is advisable to go to Dell? for information the warranty period expires next february

Vinegar can be used to get rid of gnats in the form of a vinegar trap. Vinegar traps are easy to make and can be used throughout the home, although they work best near areas where gnats feed and breed. To make a vinegar trap, simple take a bottle or jar with a large opening and fill it with vinegar (preferably white vinegar). Cover the trap, and cut a few small holes into the lid. The vinegar traps will attract the gnats. They are able to crawl into the trap but not make their way back out.
Another method for using vinegar to get rid of gnats is an alternative vinegar trap. This homemade insect trap is simple. Take a bowel and mix a few drops of dishwashing detergent with some vinegar. The vinegar will attract the gnats, and the detergent will help trap them in the bowel.

Most current laptops have a lid/panel underneath the bottom covers hiding the memory. You need to turnover the laptop and visual inspect the bottom panel/cover. Memories often are readily accessible to the user. They are underneath a lid/panel which is roughly squarish about 2 X 2 inches. It is normally held in place by small screw(s). Upon screw removal, you need to pry open the lid cover to expose the memories. Pressing sideways on the 2 retaining clips of the memory would pop it out slightly which should then be relatively easy to remove.Popping in new memory is the reverse.
