Is it possible for a bath to over flow if it has an overflow feature and no bath plug in?

It can only happen if the waste pipe is blocked or so badly restricted as to have a lower flow rate compared to the flow from the tap. An example of when this could happen is if the waste pipe is routed to the outside and freezes whilst a slow trickle of water is passing through it. It will would block up until it defrosts.

I put my kids two plastic cups and two swrily straws in the dish washer and when I went to go use them that is what happen to then they unswriled and will not fit in cup

Option 1: Deluxe Refurbishing
  1. Get some stiff pipe-cleaners from the craft store. You may need to braid them together to end up with one that's thick and strong enough to use.
  2. Boil a few litres of water.
  3. Lower the straws into the boiling water. They'll soften and uncoil.
  4. Using tongs and wearing water-proof and heat-resistant gloves, pull the straw out of the water.
  5. Feed the straight straw over the pipe-cleaner.
  6. While the straw is still hot and soft, coil it around the outside of the cup. This is your first pass. When the straw sets, take it off the cup.
  7. Put the straw back in the boiling water. The pipe-cleaner should hold it in the correct (roughly correct) shape.
  8. Set the cup on a low pan, like a bake-tray. This is to catch spills. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!
  9. Push the softened, coiled straw into the cup, twisting the straw to tighten the coil. You may use tongs or a butter-knife to push the straw down in the cup.
  10. If the straw gets stuck, and starts to set, fill the cup with boiling water. BE VERY CAREFUL. Pour the water back into the kettle or pot, then keep working the straw into the correct shape.

When all of this is done, you can pull the pipe-cleaners out of the straw. Voila! And if you're feeling daring, you can use this method to create a completely different shape to the straw. If you do, keep the pipe-cleaners handy. You'll need them to clean the interior of the straw (it gets gross otherwise).

Option 2: Quick and Dirty Refurb
Boil the water, heat the straw, and put the cup on the bake-tray.Fill the cup with boiling water.Push the floppy straw into the cup, twisting it into a coil as you do so. You may use a dull knife to arrange the coil of the straw.
The coil will be pushed to the bottom of the cup, and won't have the nicely separated spiral of the original - but it will work.

Water keeps coming out of my resavor when it starts to heat up

from what you describe either a bad radiator cap, or a leak in the small hose going to the resovoir,or the line within the resovoir tank is to short or missing, this is whats happening, engine warms up to a point that the cooling system is building pressure, the radiator cap has a set presure release to it you might see the figure direcly on top of the radiator cap, 12-14 lbs rated. it usualy will read something like that, so as that warming engine builds pressure in the cooling system it will eventualy surpass the rating of the radiator cap ,and out it goes and flows in that small line to the overflow resovoir. now when the engine cools back down it now will create a vaccum and should draw that water back from the resovoir to the radiator, but if the hose or hardline that is usualy integral within the resovoir is bad cracked or missing, it would be the same as trying to drink a soda through a straw, but the straw is not inserted below the surface of liquid.or if the straw was cracked, no fluid can be vaccumed up through the straw, the resovoir works on that same principle, it must have a good unobstructed line from radiator to the resovoir, and the line inside the resovoir should go nearly to the bottom of the tank, so the water can be vaccume syphoned out just as drinking a soda with a straw.so check to be sure the line is all good no obstructions,no cracks, and that there is a line that continues within the resovoir tank almost to the bottom as well and it is in good shape as well. last check that radiator cap to make sure the rubber as well the upper gasket portion are still there and not cracked/dryrotted. if all that is in good working order then your radiator should be able to recover the water back.just like sippin a soda through a good straw

Overheating. heater blows cold air. all coolant comes out overflow. I already changed the thermostat.

Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets good? Look for small build ups of oil around the LIM. Mine you could barely hear, hissing out can be pinpointed with a long straw or something similar by holding it to your ear and serching for the leak. Also may want to watch your weel hole to see of water pump is good. the system may also be plugged.

Have dropped a sidelight bulb in the glass of the headlight glass on an X-type Jaguar. What is the easiest way of getting it out?? Do I have to take off the bumper and remove the glass covers from the...

Job done - I got a "bendy" drinking straw the ones that have the bendy bit towards one end. Looped a thread of cotton through this (loop at one end done by threading a needle on the cotton and dropping it through the straw, holding the "loop" bit and dropping it back again)
Then I removed the "full beam lamp just to give a bit more room (this may not be necessary) - then its a game of lasso on the contact end of the bulb, if it is trapped at the back of the headlight you need to bend the straw against the fron glass to kink the straw a bit to get to the back.
Draw the cotton in VERY tight and hold it like this, carefully pull the straw and bulb back so the contact end comes out first! took me 3 attempts but well worth not having to take the front bumper off!!!!

:-) hope this helps - or simply just be carefull pulling the running or sidelight bulb out by the connector wires!

1996 1400 Acts Like There Is No Reserve

Ok, you have two "straws" on the petcock... one long that goes about an inch or so up into the tank, and a short one near the bottom of the tank.

When you petcock is turn to "on" it pulls from the longer of the two straws..once the fuel gets down below the top of the straw, you have to switch to reserve to get tha last inch or so of fuel.

What has apparently happened is, the longer "on" straw has come up out of the petcock, so now its running straight into the hole the straw used to be in, allowing it to drink every last drop of fuel from the tank when in the "on" position.

You will have to take the petcock off the bottom of the tank... you should see that there is only one straw with a screen still attached to it, if you shake the tank around you might be able to get the detached straw to come to the hole and get it with some tweezers and pull it out.

Once you have it, you need to glue it back into the petcock with some type of glue that gasoline wont break down... blue or black silicone will work, but you will have to allow it to set atleast over night to dry... might try some two part apoxy if you want to speed up the process.

READING DISC OPEN TRAY!!!!

I took a small coffee straw and put some liquid silicone in it and stuck it through the front disc tray carefully to the small engine in the back. Hold your finger over the back of the straw so that the liquid stays in until you are over the engine top. Then I put in a disc cleaning disc for about 10 sec and then put in saints row 2 and it hasn't said "open tray" for about two weeks and counting.....
