    Hi Experts

    I cannot seem to get the Symbol MC9090G to get on the network. On warm-booting, it displays the message "Cannot connect due to regulatory issues'. So I wen to options (Scanner) chose 'Regulatory" and unchecked the 'Enable 802.11d' box and pressed save. I then chose menu option 'Find WLAN's, but it returns the error "Scan Error. Adapter Unavailable' . Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try a cold boot, then recheck your wirless settings
If that doesn't help, try deleting the Profile and adding a new one. Then walk through all the settings for wirless

Try a warm boot. When in the main screen and power is on press and hold the power button until Symbol screen appears and says warm boot in the top left. Let go of power button. This should reboot system and the network adapter.

How to change host on mc9090

Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) allow mobile computers to communicate wirelessly and send captured data to a host device in real time. Before using the mobile computer on a WLAN, the facility must be set up with the required hardware to run the wireless LAN and the mobile computer must be configured. Refer to the documentation provided with the access points (APs) for instructions on setting up the hardware. To configure the mobile computer, a set of wireless applications provide the tools to configure and test the wireless radio in the mobile computer. The Wireless Application menu on the task tray provides the following wireless applications: • Wireless Status • Wireless Diagnostics • Find WLANs • Manage Profiles • Options • Enable/Disable Radio • Log On/Off Tap the Signal Strength icon to display the Wireless Applications menu

Cannot connect to Motorloa MC9090-G to wirless network due to regulatory issues. All of my connection parameters are correct. Can someone help?

Hello,

please asure yourself, that in Options of the WLAN Fusion Client (icon in the right corner) is the Regulatory set for the correct country.

To be sure, just disable the 802.11d checkbox in Fusion - Options - Regulatory.

Windows Mobile Symbol Find WLAN error

Warm boot the MC55 if that doesn't help then cold boot it, if that doesn't help then reload the Operating system, if that doesn't fix it then send it back to Motorola for a warranty repair.

How do I change the sleep timer settings on a Motorola MC9090

A - From the Windows Mobile user interface:

1. Tap Start (the Windows Logo), then Settings.
2. Tap the System tab.
3. Tap the Power icon.
4. Tap the Advanced tab.

You can change the number of minutes before power is turned off when on battery and when on external power from there. You can also uncheck the "Turn off device if not used for" check box to disable the timeout entirely.

B - From the registry (useful for deploying the setting as a .reg file to the device, in case you have many MC9090 guns you are supporting or you are wanting to set it to a value the user interface does not support):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts]
"BattSuspendTimeout"=dword:00000000
"ACSuspendTimeout"=dword:00000000

The above values are in hex and represent the number of seconds before timing out when on battery or AC power. For example, to set the BattSuspendTimeout to 180 seconds, you would set it to dword:000000B4. To disable it entirely (the equivalent of unchecking the checkbox in the user interface), set the value to 0.

Wlan W200 connection problem

There is a solution to this, and you won't have to buy a new card. The folks at HP, however smart in their design of this laptop, have not properly updated the bug fix for the wlan w200 drivers. What you'll need to do is actually take back your network adapter driver all the way back to Version 1.0 revision C. I did this with an n610c that I got for free because it was BSOD'ing every time the wireless was turned on. For the most part the wireless can handle older routers and wlan areas, but will BSOD when within range of a wireless "N" adapter. Simply download the driver version 1.0c and you should have no more issues.

Tip: You can disable the card manually by pressing your "Fn + F2" keys, rather than trying to navigate your menus before getting the BSOD.
