You must use the software that comes with the Camera to do your editing. You can not just copy straight to the computer you see that the Discs that come with your camcorder have software that enables you to down load your pictures using the capture window while your camera is connected to the computer by a USB of 1394 firewire cable. You must have all these utilities in order to do your download. You will see options on your software to convert your pictures for email addressing that makes them to the required small files. Without the software being loaded your camera might not be recognized.
If you have Windows XP you should just be able to plug in the camera via USB cable and download them, no problem. I never use any software that comes with a camera, you don't need it.
you dont need it..if you plug it into your computer, open up My Computer and Windows will recognize it as a device. There you can drag pictures from the camera to your computer without the need for the software. If you do want it though, I would google the type of camera you have and put "software" behind it. There should be a link for the manufactures homepage where you should be able to download it from their website.
I don't think you need the software to load the pictures. Just link your camera to your Computer. Your computer should recognize the camera and begin the upload process without the software. Just follow the prompts
Hi There, My name is Peter and believe it or not I've just purchased a new computer which has Vista I tried to load the CD without success
Can you please help me as I love this Sony Camera
Hp has digital software for most digital cameras to work with Vista the link should help. http://www.hp.com/united-states/consumer/digital_photography/free/software/index.html
You do not need software for the computer to read the camera to upload images.
The supplied disc with digital cameras is best left in the box
let windows do the work
If you would like an images editor then downloaf Picasa which is free or invest in a full editing software such as Coral paintshop pro or one of the Serif range
