I have an Acer X223W and just realized that it had 2 connector cables with it beside the power connection, a white connector and a blue connector. Do I need to hook up both, I have only had the blue hooked up all this time.

Hi
According to Acer, probably not. They installed a PCI-E board on "selected models",but the majority were not made with them.
Look at the back where the monitor cable connects, and look at the connection. If it's a blue,9 pin connector on the computer, that's VGA.If you don't see a white,24 pin connector roughly right beside the blue one,you don't have DVI capability.
Post back if you have any questions, and if this answers your question would you rate my post?
Thanks
Bob
So I have found the answer myself ;o) I removed the front panel of the computer, behind the panel the wires were labelled, I connected the cables to the connectors that I required and connected them to the MoBo, works like a dream!
I have a dual monitor system, both are the x223w. Same problem but only on the second monitor. Backlight shuts off.On/off light stays blue. I have to turn off the monitor and turn it back on. I returned it and Acer could not find any problem so I got it back. No problem for awhile and now a few times over the past couple days. Not good...
well that Would be a VGA Cord(BLUE COLOUR) which u have connected the other one with the white port will be DVI port.if u want better Display connect ur LCD with DVI port.u will usally find this port on a graphic card.
Yes, you do. You need an stereo audio cable. It will have a connector like found on portable headphones on each end. There should be a recepticle for it on your monitor, usually marked light green. This cable would then connect to your computer's audio output. Although, I don't think your monitor has speakers.
