Sylvania tv standby mode

Hello, what is the model number? Without that, my best guess is the main board has a problem over saying a power supply problem because the stand-by lights on, that says that the biggest part of the power supply is working....thanks

I have a 19 inch Sylavnia HDTV (Model #LC195SL9 B - 120 V~60Hz 55W) and have had it less than a year. All of a sudden the TV will not go into standby mode and the TV appears "ON" all the time. I do not get...

The issue is the powerboard is not going into staby mode, unfortunatly this will need repair if its under warranty this repair would be covered. Now there is no real issue here if it does not go into standby but to save on those eletricty bills i would simply unplug it anyhow. The issue and reason why products have a stamdby mode is for auto timers and record timers things like that. What happends is the power supply inside is not going into its standby mode and the reason behind this is a defective relay.

I could get techincal and down to componet level but I will loose you in the tech mist. Quite simple here get it repaired or deal with it until it finally goes out. The power supply is on its last leg.

This was a free answer provided in part by Fixya.com please be considerate and rate and leave feedback to help pay the bills here (keep the lights on) Expert does not get paid just by cash the ratings help him stay into his expert status.

There was a power surge and a loud pop and now the tv will not power on. The red standby light is lit, but when I try to turn on the tv, the green power light flashes twice and then goes back to the red...

A job for the technician on this one. I have only worked on several flat screen before, on my last days as an electronic technicians. Half of the ones I worked on was the power supply inside ir the problem was like this. Instruction on how to fix them would require me to write many pages on electronic theory so, I am very sorry It is almost impossible for me to help you on that. Be carefull where you take that tv to. some shop can't fix those. You may have to search your local area for someone who specialize in flat sreen HDTV. Well I hope I have shed a little light on the problem. Thanx for posting the problem.
