You can use external monitor, but best option is to replace the cracked screen. Take a tour of toshiba service centre.

Thanks and Good Luck

Our daughter was not feeling well and lost her

It isnt hard at all to do. There are many walk throughs online to guide ya through. Just take your time and have patience. Other things you should look for (that i can think of) can only really be determined after you replace the lcd screen. Dropping a laptop like that can damage the hard drive and therefore losing data or your operating system.

Laptop turns on and the monitor only turns on for a second.

Hello,

you need to open the laptop and check the screen, it is possible that the flex or screen inverter that connects the screen to the laptop motherboard has shifted or has loosed contact or is not firm to its right position.

All you need to do is to open the laptop, if the flex is removed, fix it back to its right position and that's all.

Also, do a general troubleshooting on the screen and the problem should be solved.

Good luck.

Left side of screen blacked out,two or linnes in rest of screen

Hi there

The Problem is from the flex of your laptop. The flex is what connects the screen of your laptop to the motherboard of the laptop. The more you close and open the laptop the flex gets weak and that is what causes what you are seeing on your screen

To solve this problem get an expert to change the flex of your laptop for you
