The dryer squeels when operating and I put some belt grip on the belt. It helped for a little while but now it's worse than ever. The belt feels pretty snug. ???

This could be a few things. The idler pulley or drum rollers are the likely problem. Both are easy to check and replace. The belt should be replaced at the same time. Here is a couple links that should help

go here and this should help you.when you put the belt on the ribs are up so the smooth side touches the drum, the easiest way is rap the belt around the pulley, feel and make sure the left side of the belt is in the metal v like bracket, with your left hand grab the right side of the belt and pull it to the left to put it onto the motor shaft while with your right hand you push the pulley to the left at the same time,it's a little different from a regular whirlpool belt but you should get it,if it feels like the belt isn't long enough make sure the new belt is on the old mark on the drum.hope this helps.part number for belt is Y312959

2002 highlander--started squeeling from the belt area in Feb. Had belt replaced, was worn. It would squeel on starting then stop. Now turning on a/c makes it squeel. Fan works and after a little while

try cleaning the cogs that the belt runs around some times the belt puts a layer of rubber on them when the belt slips which makes the new belt slip if not could be a bearing in the pullys the belt runs around

My 90 bronco 5.0 keeps eating sepentine belts. what causes this and when i put a new one one it sqeels loud... whY?

Either tensioner is bad and not putting enough tension on belt or one of the accessories driven are faulty. Best way is to remove belt and try spinning each pulley separately and feel for resistance or rough feel of bearings. Don't forget AC. Check it before removing belt and If your experiencing the squeel more when AC is on, then not enough tension on belt, or AC system should be checked.

11087088601 dyer squeels at start; will stop after a bit

The belt is loose and is most likely due to the belt being stretched out. Replace the belt and the tensioner also to solve this squeal.

Dryer making a high pitch squeeling sound when

The idler bearing that keeps tension on the belt is going out due to heat leaching the grease out of it. Have it replaced.

2005 nissan ultima.hear a squeeling noise.its worse when ac is of

sounds like to tightened the belt to much... back off the tension on it a little bit, with the belt, you want it tight, but not to tight,,,, it should have about 1/4 flex in the belt when tightened... make a little loose and see if you still have the squeel... if you still do try going to a parts store, like pepboys, autozone etc. pick up some brake cleaner it will be in a canaster, and while the engine is running spray a little <spirts> on the pullys, and see if the squeel stops, if so then it could be a bad bearing in the part... see what makes it stop... the brake cleaner will dry quick and not ruin anything cause you do it in short bursts do not use wd40 or any oil type of stuff on it cause it will cause slippage...

GE evolution dryer has intermitent squeeling!

Is the belt slipping? Check and see if it is worn. Open door, remove 2-4 screws at 12:00 position, lift up cover. The belt is the little band wrapped around the big thing.
