The self cleaning setting goes to a very high temperature ,it is this high temperature that cleans the oven ,the remains that was left in the oven.during the cleaning cycle would have likely caused the hazy smoke and strong odour . Recomendation : use your vent fan , remove heavy residue from the oven before starting the cleaning cycle.

Oven ( with combined grill) is very smokey and smelly

Your oven is one of the most-used appliances in your home, and when you use it for preparing strong-smelling meals, like fish or for curing jerky for instance (I speak from experience on the latter), you can be left with an oven that emits bad smells into the rest of your food for weeks on end. You have a spill in the oven. Wait until the burners are cool to clean them only with warm soapy water (no chemicals) and clean inside the oven. Like a self cleaning oven, it's only at high degrees it will "burn" off the food spills and will cause smoke. Shop Appliances and Furniture for your home from Appliances connection online store.

Old frigidaire wall oven model RBE-94N emitting strong odor & not baking

Hello - From what you have described it sounds like the unit has faulty elements or could possibly be experiencing a wiring issue with the EOC. Try resetting the oven by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and if it proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose the unit.

Hi,
The self destruct or self clean feature has burnt the wiring inside your range... do not use that feature it causes the range to get too hot...

When cleaning my oven, the whole house fills with smoke.

sell cleaning on ovens just causes problems like this, it is normal. it cleans by burning everything inside at high temp. i always recommend cleaning the old fashioned way, once a year , with oven cleaner, or as req. roasting an oven itself to clean it is insane i think

How do I use the steam clean self-cleaning oven?

The SteamClean option spot cleans the oven in 20 minutes and is recommended for cleaning light spills on the bottom of the oven cavity. When used routinely, the SteamClean option reduces the need for frequent self-clean cycle use. To use the SteamClean option, pour 12 ounces (1 1/2 cup) of water into the bottom of the oven cavity, close the oven door and push the SteamClean button. At the end of the cycle, consumers wipe out the bottom of the oven, easily removing oven soils. The steam cleaning option is eco-friendly and does not require frequent use of the self-clean cycle, which can create a strong odor. Read this in a post about the new whirlpool ranges

Not only do you not have to use Easy Off, if you do, it will ruin the oven liner. Wipe excess grease as much as possible from the oven cavity, maybe even use a plastic spatula to scrape up excess then turn it on and let it go through the self cean cycle for 3-4 hours. S/C ovens work by getting up around 900 degrees and burning food soils from the oven liner and inside door surface. Open windows and go shopping for 4 or 5 hours.. Seriously, that's about all you can do. Well, maybe a movie if your not in the mood to shop. Tell your neighbors not to call the fire department when they see smoke coming from the windows. Not meaning to sound sarcastic but having been a technician for 30 years I have seen this more times than I can count

I have alot of smoke when i use the self cleaning feature

Self cleaning works by 'burning' all of the material it is cleaning.  If you have excessive grease other material in the oven, it will cause the smoking.  Either do the cycle more frequently or remove as much of the goo as possible with a cloth before beginning.  If you have a ventilator to the outside, turn it on and close the door to the kitchen to contain the odor.
