The repair shop that was located next to where I work uses a ratio of 50:1 in all of the small engines they work on; no matter who the manufacturer is. The head mechanic is a Certified Mechanic.
He uses a 2.6 oz bottle of 2 stroke mixing oil to 1 US Gallon of mid grade gasoline.
Fuel requires 2-cycle oil be added, bar oil is straight from the container. Oil Mix Ratio: The following ratios have been recommended for the last 10-15 years. Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1. • 1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil. • 4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil. McCulloch, Poulan & Wen; recommend 40:1. • 1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil. • 4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil. Chinese chainsaws recommend 25:1.

40:1 is the standard mix. Go buy one of the little containers ( 3.2 ounces) of 2-cycle oil and mix it with a gallon of gas in an approved container (like a gas can). How you mix it is, pour some gas in the container...about 1/4 of the gallon, then pour in the oil, mix well, by shaking the can then add the remaining gasoline and PRESTO, you have a 40:1 mix!
