Whats with the front fan noise? I purchased a refurbished machine that is really loud! Sent it back for replacement of the unit; instead the fan was replaced(I GUESS) and when returned, its still very loud. Is this the nature of this machine?

Sounds as if your blower wheel is damaged or the balance weight has dislodged. Turn power off and inspect blower wheel.

Hello, Self-defrosting refrigerators use a circulating fan to move air through the freezer and refrigerator compartment. This fan runs when ever the unit is cooling. The fan is located in the freezer, as follows:

• If the freezer is on top, the fan is on the back wall,near the top or bottom, in the center of the freezer.
• If the freezer is on the bottom, the fan is on the back wall, near the top of the freezer.
• If the freezer is on the left, the fan is on the back wall, half way up or near the top.

Overtime the fan may become noisy, usually making a chirping or squealing sound, though it may make a loud groaning noise instead.
To find out if the fan is causing the noise,just open the freezer door and push in any fan/light switches, if the noise is louder when the door is open, the evaporator fan motor is the cause. You can lubricate or repair this motor. You must replace it.
There are three components on the outside back of the refrigerator that may become noisy: the compressor, the condenser fan motor(if self-defrosting), or the defrost timer (if self-defrosting).

the bulb may have burst from overheating from a fan not working to cool it down. and it can be replaced. it does take, however, a while to replace it because you have to take half of it apart. but make sure it's the fan first. take the lamp door off and remove the lamp. use something small and thin to push in the switch that the lamp door usually activates. turn the projector on and see if the lamp fan and the colorwheel (the multicolor glass disk) are spinning. if the fan spins, the noise may be from the colorwheel motor going bad. the fan can be purchased through an infocus authorized service center. check the website for the closest one. but the colorwheel for the x1 cannot be purchased seperately from the optical engine, and that costs a fortune. but here is the part number for the 80mm fan- 526-0152-00.

• If the condenser fan is making noise, there may be a build-up of lint or other debris on the fan blade. The fan is located near the back of the machine, sometimes behind a thin panel. To clean it, first unplug the refrigerator, remove the thin panel, and use a soft bristle brush to clean it. If there is no lint build-up or debris on the blade, you will have to replace the motor.
  
  
• The defrost timer is often located at the bottom of the refrigerator, near the front and behind the kick plate. Occasionally the electric motor inside the timer may become noisy. The timer must be replaced to solve this problem.

However, sometimes the drain pan under the refrigerator will rattle. You may need to tape the pan in place to stop a rattle. Also see the “Outside back of the refrigerator.”

Check to see if you have movement up and down on the inner tub like a bad bearing or loud roaring noise when turning by hand if so your bearing in the back of the unit has washed its grease out and the back of the outer tub will have to be replace the bearing in factory pressed in sorry that is a hard job and not a cheep one good luck

My Kenmore front-load washer starts to make the huge noise. The noise happens during the wash cycle, but is mild. During the spin cycle, the noise becomes really loud. It looks like the drum is getting loose and hitting other part of the machine.
I checked the drum, and I can sway the drum easily with my hand. So it looks some supporting structure is broken. I don't know if it is easy to open the washer to check what has been broken.

Still under warranty. put it back together and don't tell anyone you took it apart. Call the factory numbers and have them fix or replace it...let us know what happens..kraxytech

They have a bad issue with that. The fans fail all the time inm those clarions... I can sell you a used fan for $40 or if youd like me to repair your unit you could send it to me and i will repair it for a total of $200. ampman out!
