My P.C got a very bad virus so had to completly clean the hard drive. I had to reinstall everything including my brother DCP330C . It prints fine but it will not scan to file. I have lost the disk I received with the printer. Can you help me as I need to scan a lot of photos for a project for christmas. My thanks. Michael..

Clean out the virus manually, download a virus cleaner that runs in safe mode or reinstall your operating system.

Bit Defender Rescue Disc is a good one that boots on it's own negating any virus and it's free to use.

Heeeelp, ok no sales pitch for me, i run a small home business and need to get up and running again...I received a pop-up yesterday saying I needed to fix a virus-threat and malware, I kept saying no and...

if you can...completely wipe out your hard drive and reinstall windows. if you need the stuff off of your hard drive...take it to a small local computer business and they will do that for you for cheap. sometimes you will save yourself a whole lot of time and heartache if you just completely reinstall windows and wieout your hard drive and write over it again. AVG or Avira is a free virus software program that has never allowed a virus on my computer.

if you ever get a message that ask you to run a virus scan without your initiating it then don't...there are so many of those damn scams. Good Luck.

The hard disk has only 1.8 MBs read/write average

If it had a bad virus i would start fresh, format the hard drive, and even better low level format it to make sure its completely clean and then start over and see if that helps. If it was fine before the virus and suddenly its slow now i doubt something else just suddenly failed. Most likely the hard drive is still pretty messed up from the virus.

Color rendition is way off on Brother 4050 (4040/4070)

Run a self calibration cycle a couple of times, and also clean the laser scanners.
