Hi, my bose system has just stopped working. No clock, no cd playing. Came home and found it just not working. Could this be the remote batteries? I've recently had a major problem with the electrics all being out, could this have caused a fuse. It did work directly after this, as I remember changing the time on it. But when I next came home, it wasn't working. Any help would be appreciated. regards Janet

We had this problem. I called Bose, and they reported that the 801 error is a hard drive problem. The unit started squealing while I was on the phone to support, and the guy heard it. Said the hard drive was failing.

$200 to ship the unit to Bose to replace the drive. Wish they had a secret warantee for what seems like a common problem.

hate to stae the obvious and painfull answer, but that nees to go back to the shop where if the sales guy cant get it sorted for you it could be a firmware crash and tus a warranty replacement, i know the manual is not that good in this specif area. and a non warranty reset may cost money, if warranty does not cover this specific area of adventure as it is possible they could blame the content of the media being corrupted in some way, could be ahrd one.

however you could try remoing the disk and resetting the system according to manual frist.

I purchased a LAZBOY universal remote (at Fred Meyers, on sale for $9.99) and after a bunch of research and trial-&-error, was able
program it with a code (1629) which works reasonably well with the
Bose 3-2-1.

I don't have all the system-level functions (which I never utilized anyway) but do have all the basics as far as power, volume, source, and CD/DVD control.
