Is that a Samsung headphone that came with your phone? If yes, the first thing that you must do is to connect the headphone into different Samsung phone to make sure that the headphone is not defective.

As far as I believe, Samsung phones should auto detect the headphone once connected. If the phone is not detecting the headphone, then the headphone could be defective.

Try it first, then give me an update.

Thank you and good luck!

Usually, the moment headphones are plugged in, they are activated. the headset interface has kind of a sensor mechanism and activates them without you enabling them from a specific function on the phone menu. Unless your head sets are wireless (bluetooth), otherwise, you either have faulty headsets or your samsung has a dirty or even faulty headset interface (jack). try to clean that samsung jack and test again.

Samsung soundbar with sub woofer

Maybe try headphones settings instead of internal speakers and consider the sound bar as headphones. Some TV's may limit output to headphones as well but start there.
Assuming you have a Samsung TV, look at your TV settings.
You may have the sound level on auto.
Next check to see if you are set for the external speakers, you might have to look in additional settings to find this.
Should you have another brand of TV the concept is the same.
so check settings for TV for external output.

Samsung Galaxy s3 s voice can't hear me but my phone calls are fine

If the microphone on the headphone work, then the built in microphone near the base of the phone could be bad. If you don;t want to have the phone fixed yet, keep using the headphone or get a Bluetooth headphone set.

The Galaxy S3 is quite old, in smartphone lifetime, so I suggest upgrading to a S6 or better.

Turn off internal speakers

This is usually a menu option that you can reach with your remote. I don't have this particular TV, but if you can turn them off, it is usually a menu configuration option. Hunt around with your remote until you find the configuration menu and look for the "sound" settings.

If your TV has a headphone jack, try plugging a set of headphones into the TV to see if that disconnects the internal speakers. If it does, go to Radio Shack and buy an appropriately sized blank plug and just plug that in to the headphone jack to disconnect the speakers.

Headphone jack not functioning properly

This is the normal way for this laptop ..leave it always with the headphones on selected in that list ..cause if the main speakers don't work well there is no point in using them ..This way you will run whatever yo will plug in ..speakers or headphones..The only setting difference in headphones and stereo out ..is that for headphones will but the speakers of the laptop when plugged in ..This way it will even help you if the speakers are making weird noises cause they are damaged ..

Headset size for samsung sw531 mobile phone

Hi brentcopeman,
U would say yes this is the case. Nearly all mobile phones have a 2.5mm headphone jack up to the newest smartphones and walkmans that have been in production on the last year or 2 some of which use the standard headphone jack size.
I might add that if you have headphones that you like already to buy one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Headset-Adapter-3-5mm-2-5mm-Converter/dp/B000LMBJMA
That way you can use the headphones you already have and insert them into the phone using the adapter and don't have the added cost of new headphones unnecessarily.
Hope this helps you out.

How can I get headphones to work with my Symphonic WF203 TV?

This set doesn't have a headphone jack, nor does it have RCA audio output jacks. Without one or the other, you're out of luck connecting headphones to this TV.

I remember a product some years ago that allowed adding headphones using a small microphone placed in front of the speaker. This was hooked to a little amplifier that ran the headphones so the volume could be independently controlled. It was marketed as a way to let "hearing-impaired" family members listen to TV shows without needing to make it uncomfortably loud for others. I haven't looked, but something similar might still be available. It's cumbersome, though, and needs power, plus maybe being costly if you find one.

It's possible to add a headphone jack, but you need to know how to do electronic soldering. Find a spot on the case where you can make a hole and mount a headphone jack, then wire it to the speakers. If you want the headphones to cut off the speakers when plugged in, you need a switching jack, and the speaker wires need to be cut and connected to the correct terminals. The switch built into the jack then disconnects the speakers when the headphone plug is in. If you don't need to turn off the speakers it's a little easier. You just need to wire from the jack to the speaker terminals. I've added jacks on quite a few sets. If you don't feel up to it and don't know anyone who is, you can see if a TV shop (if there are any left in your area!) would do it. (The shop I used to work for charged about $20, including the jack, but that was over 10 years ago now.)

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

When i turn on tv with head phone plug , it's does'nt work, i need to unplug the head phone and plug againt, how can i start tv with head phone on.. thanks

Go into your sound settings in your menu and tell it to audio output to headphones. The reason it does that is because headphones are not set as a default so they only work when plugged in after its on and recognized.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate :]

My phone doesnt work right

It happened to me the other day... My phone worked for a call, then I took a nap with my headphones plugged into the phone. Then, I bleive what happened was I pulled the headphones out without turning the music off. Then my phone had the same problem. Also, my music would not play without headphones.

I tried to goto Verizon today and they gave me the runaround. Then tonight, I had the phone plugged into a soundboard at my bar to play music and I pulled the cord without turning the music off and it started playing out of the phone as normal. Then I tried calling my friend and it worked. The text problem went away too.

Connecting headphones

I looked at the manual and I can't find any evidence that you have a headphone jack which is odd. I had 17" samsung and it had a headphone jack. The only thing I can think of is Wireless headphones. You could hook them up to your audio out rca jacks on your TV. I was just looking at a pair on amazon that had the right plug ins. But I don't want to say which ones because I don't want endorse a product when I don't know how well they work. They were reasonably priced. If this helps give me a vote please.
