I bought a new kia with sirius installed already. I live in FL and I park my car in a garage overnight and when I go out to work at 7:30am my sirius does not work. I will drive 15 minutes to workand it is still "aquiring a signal" When I get out of wo rk at 2:30p I have no problem at all. I too my car to the dealer and they said there is nothing wrong. Ofcourse when I take my car there is is working fine. I am so frustrated. Can anyone give me any ideas?

These are Hard to find. If the battery dies overnight its usually a slow drain... Lights!!. Visor mirrors closed completely,Console lite...glove box light... Hood,trunk.interior lights. charge cords, accessories plugged in?Put in garage at night make dark as possible and just look all around , wait for awhile till everything goes out... reading lights under rear view mirror. ( I found my visor light staying on due to papers stuck there for holding....Duh...)...Simple thing 1st!

If you live in a hot area such as Florida, look up the service bulletin concerning replacing the alternator with a 100 amp one instead of the 80 or 70. My grandson has the same problem and I will find out more tomorrow. The bulletin was issued in September 2004.

The "hard wired" version that you speak of apparently only refers to the power supply.Do you have a seperate display for the Sirius unit? Now, you failed to mention the type of radio (factory or aftermarket); so, if you have to use an "empty radio station" then you have an FM modulator. This modulator could wired or wireless. The wired version interrupts the vehicle antenna wire and the station on said modulator is usually preset to either 88.1, 88.3,88.7, or 89.1. There is no need to power this modulator up, it comes on when then Sirius comes on. One way to check for power is to turn on the Sirius unit and tune your radio to an occupied Fm station. Wait a few seconds and listen to the reception. Turn off the Sirius unit, the reception should improve for the occupied station. If it is a wireless FM modulator it also has preset stations that you can change but, extending the wieless antenna will greatly improve your reception of the Sirius stations.

The smell indicates a leaking fuel line, so check this ouit asap.

cant be done. put parking bumper on flor so you know you pulled in far enough. you are only one I know who installed parking laser. I don't. If customer isnt home when I install gdo, how do I aim laser. What about when they get new car. They want you back for free to adjust, No way.
