Hi there,
Since you have re-installed Xp try checking device manager. You should see network adapters there. If you do not see it, it means the software for it is not installed. You have to download the drivers from the computer manufacturer's website.

Broadband wireless adapter limited connectivity issues

If the wireless security on the router is enabled, then the pre-shared key or encryption key on the router and PC should match.

To check the wireless settings, use the laptop to access the web interface of the router. Follow the steps below:

1 Using your Internet browser, go to http://dsldevice.lan or to the IP address of your router (by default: 192.168.1.254).
2 On the Home Network menu, click Wireless.
3 In the upper-right corner, click Details.
4 The wireless Access Point page appears. Under:
- Configuration, you can find the network name (SSID).
- Security, you can find the encryption.

On the PC wireless, access the wireless network connection. Select the SSID and then type the encryption key or pre-shared key.

Once the encryption key on the PC and router matches, then you should obtain an IP address and get online.

Windows xp wont connect to internet

Please check you LAN settings on your router (DNS) - usually it is 0.0.0.0 (assigned by provider)
Make sure your PC is using DHCP (TCP/IP properties -> Obtain IP Address Automatically & Obtain DNS server address automatically). Try "ipconfig /all" at others computers and compare with your PC (look at gateway & DNS). See if you can ping gateway and then outside address.

p.s. To access your router open Internet Explorer and enter http://192.168.0.1/
If it is not working, check the default gateway address on working computer and use it instead.

Doesn't work with windows vista

1. check if there are lights on the specific router port where you have connected the Vista (e.g. if it is on port 2, check if there are lights on #2 at the front panel of the router).
2. check the ip address by going to command prompt (click start-run-type cmd press enter. on the command prompt, type ipconfig/all)
3. ip address should be similar to what your Windows XP is getting. Subnet mask, gateway, and DNS servers should be identical.

Eg. If XP has a 192.168.1.100 IP, your Vista should have 192.168.1.x IP address where x is a variable number other than 100.

4. If your IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS seems aligned for both PCs, check your browser settings. Open IE, go to tools, internet options, network connection and make sure that never dial a connection is selected.

How to use this unit as a Access Point for an existing Wireless Home Network

set the second router through the web menus to a different ip address, cant have 2 devices on the same (default) 192.168.0.1 address, try 192.168.0.2 (example only) to stop data collisions
connect by cable secondary router lan port 1 to the primary router lan port 4 (any lan port to any lan port),
drag secondary router upstairs on its cable and install it wherever you want
set two routers on different channels.
set all wep settings on both routers the same.
set all pcs to 'auto channel' select
wireless adaptors in pcs will then select strongest signal at any point and transmit thru that router
