My husband spilled wine onto our remote and after cleaning the inside etc. no power at all. I tried new batteries,but nothing happens at all...am I screwed?

Either something was spilled onto the remote, or the remote itself is malfunctioning. You can try to remove the batteries, pop open the case with a flat head screw driver, clean the rubber buttons/electrical board with q-tips dipped in rubbing alcohol; or buy a new remote for under $20.

Did any wine bottle broken or leaking before, if yes it still could be inside the panels

this item is most likely fried and rather than stressing yourself out looking for possible solutions to the problem your husbands clumsiness cause I would say have him give you some money and go purchase a new universal remote

next time when someting spills on your laptop , mobile , desktop u bring rice and spill it on the device the rice will drink the liquid in minutes then remove the rice but i have no answers for wat abut this i think u should change your battery

did you put new batteries in both the remote and the remote sensor box . if so you will need a new remote you can buy for about 100 bucks it includes the remote and remote sensor, its not hard to install . any gas log supplier can assist you

Have you remove battery from the remote immediately after wine spill? If not, your remote is gone and most likely not repairable.

Ok I feel a little silly, there is a sync button on the console (inside the flap by the power on button) and the board (inside the battery compartment on the underside of the board) as soon as I pressed them at the same time it worked. Goodluck everyone.

Turn camera off! Take out battery!
Now, with NO Electrical contact or power in it, try to clean wine residue away from any moving parts with clean water and try drying unit slowly in front of a heater or hair dryer. If available, put a small amount of WD-40 in the same areas, making sure to wipe away any drainage or excess. Allow to dry overnight in warm area, pehaps by heater, but don't let it get too hot. Reinstall battery and turn it on.
It should work find now. Good Luck!

In which area do you live in? You can just call up any laptop repair service and tell them your problem and also ask an estimate for the repair. You can call up more than 2 sevices and compare the costs and fix it up.
