I have bought a mecer notebook sytem model mustek6376 from an auction that came without any installation disks.
Operating system Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
processor 3,07 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
My problem is that there is no sound driver (how do I detect what soundcard is installed) and where can I download the driver / software
The same applies to the modem and video controller (vga compatible)

You can check the manufacture website for the drivers
You'll have to check which Motherboard you've got in your Notebooks. To know this. press F4 when the system boots and shows the Motherboard Screen. Or even simple, you just visit the Sites of IBM & Acer (I think you've misspelled it as `Mecer'). From these Websites you can download Drivers etc. for your Notebook.

open up the computer and find the brand on the sound card (or expansion your looking for) then use google or any search engine an look up something like ex. sound blaster audigy 2 driver download. that was my sound card an then find your card an follow the install wizard hope that helps a lil
