What make and model phone?

Without knowing the model of your VTech phone I can't give you a definite answer, but on many models you press the PROG button then use UP/DOWN to reach "RINGER:", press SELECT, then use UP/DOWN to select the desired ringer style.

hi, you have to go into settings, then profile now the top profile is general you need to then goto settings option on this general profile, try selecting the profile then if that dont bring up the profile menu then go back to where it says general then press top left or right button to enter the profile setup.
once you have entered this you can scroll down and it will let you choose incoming call alert (this is your ringtone) and incoming call alert vol( this is how loud the ringer is)
changing this will change the ringer you hear.

To cutoff ringer volume in Vtech cordless phones,you have to turn off the base ringer.
Handset:
program button->up/down" key to cycle until you see the Ringer selection->up/down" key(s) to cycle until the OFF selection
Base Ringer:
Menu->press menu until you hear "Base Ringer, to change base ringer press change"->PLAY/STOP button to save

There is a switch above the ringer volume. This switch turns the audible ringer to vibrate. Make sure to switch it to on. (If you are using a soft case, many of those are bad about hitting this button to off.)

On most of the phones you just keep pushing the volume down button untill it turns off. On some models there is a "Do not disturb" feature, usually it is a soft key feature so look on the LCD screen. Also, for the person that can't turn the ringer back on, just push the volume up key untill the ringer is at the level you like.

press menu,scroll down to ringer settings,hit select,scroll to ringer volume and hit select then press up the round button in the middle until you hear it make a "ring" sound. adjust your preferred volume and hit save.

To turn your ringer back on, you do the following. For your handset, you push Menu, scroll to ringer settings, then push select, Press select again for ringer volume, then scroll up to turn on and increase the ringer volume. Then press Save once its at the desired volume. To change your base ringer, while it is not in use, push the ringer up button until you hear the desired setting. That should fix your problems.

The simple answer is: while you are not using the phone, press the up or down volume button and it should turn the ringer back on. To turn the ringer back off, press and hold the down volume button until you hear two beeps. You can adjust the volume while the phone is ringing. The manual will tell you how to change your ringer tones, etc.
