Hi,

First make sure that the top you have attached is attached properly. If yes then for sure the buzz is due to some other reason. Nothing to do with the top. It could be either of the two. Either the Magnetron has failed or the Inverter board has failed.

Thank You

Microwave make loud buzz sound occasionaly, mainly if I try to do popcorn but it does it with other food too

Check your waveguide cover / spatter shield for grease or food particles. It may be arcing.

To help you further (with free advice), I would need to full model number and FCC ID number from the label on / in your microwave.

LOUD BUZZING NOISE AND THE ANSWER I RECEIVED WAS FOR A DIFFERENT MODEL. CAN I FIX IT MYSELF?

If the loud buzzing noise is present when cooking food, the magnetron is the likely cause, some models are louder than others. But if the buzzing noise is there without the microwave running it should be checked. No! this something that should be checked by a professional for safety.

My microwave no longer heats anything and also makes a really loud buzzing sound when i attempt to use it.

The problem is most likely caused by a defective magnetron that "heats the food" is loading down the high voltage transformer causing it to make a loud buzzing sound. The cost to repair (depending on make and model) will probably approach the cost of a new microwave oven when you factor parts and labor.

Error message on a whirlpool microwave oven ''F2 H2 Hood Keys scanning''

Hi,

The F2 H2 error code refers to a faulty hood/light switch. This is a combonation board located just behind the buttons on the left panel. The part number for the switch board is 8206049. Since the screws holding this left panel on are only accessable with the door of the microwave removed, I would recommend this repair to be done by a profressional repair person.

Loud buzzing noise with Whirpool microwave oven when it comes on. All lights, heating and fan seems to work but not sure why loud buzzing. What is the problem?

The loud buzzing you hear is the sound of the magnatron tube. That is what emits the microwave radiation and buzzing should be normal. The mag tube may be nearing its end at witch time you will hear no buzzing and hence no heating of foods. Replacement can be costly depending on the model so most people just opt for a new one. Hope this helps

Microwave buzzing

It's likely a bad magnetron or maybe the high-voltage transformer. If it's within the warranty period of the magnetron (5 years or less), I would call Sears. In my professional opinion, no one should work on a microwave unless they are fully informed and aware of the deadly hazards and necessary precautions. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

Microwave makes loud buzzing sound when on and no heat

Have you tried putting a cup of water in it and cooking on a low power level? If it buzzes only when it is on the cook cycle, that would narrow it down. More detals might help us help you, including the model number.
