Freezer side works fine

The freezer worked fine on my Jenn Air JCD 2389 GES. I found the coils inside the freezer after removing the panels and used a blow dryer to melt all of the ice that had formed (which was quite a bit). I'm waiting for the fridge side to cool down, but am hopeful it works since I know all of that ice built up in the freezer coils couldn't have been doing me any good. It sounds like I might have a defrost issue. Any ideas on what it could be?

You probably have a defrost issue. things to check are:
defrost heater not open circuit
there is often a thermal cutout in series with the heater and this may be open circuit.
defrost sensor may be wrong value.
fault in module

more than likely the defrost thermostat on the top of the defrost clipped onto the coil is bad,if not it can bethe defrost heater underneath the evap coil thats open and cant heat,or the defrost control board located behind the control panel is bad and not powering the defrost heater and thermostat

Jenn-Air bottom freezer ice maker not working

I took the arm of the ice-making machine out of the slot and put it back in, pushing it snugly inside the slot, then raised and lowered it several times. Then, with the arm in the up (stop making ice) position, I felt inside the ice-making tray, where I noted there were ice cubes as well as a sheet of ice at the base of the ice-making tray. I poured approximately 24 oz. of hot tap water into the tray to melt the sheet of ice. I turned the freezer temp control to "warmer". I think the freezer temp setting was too cold, causing the ice maker to freeze the water before it could make cubes. I have a working ice maker again!

I have a Jenn Air refrig JCD 2389GES....the frezzer is working fine, the the fridg is warm.....what should I do? I took the ice maker out and cleaned the slots behind it....the fridg side is still not...

Check the circulation fan in the freezer compartment that circulates the cold to the fresh food compartment. If its not running, and no ice is on it to bind uo the blades, replace the motor.

Fridge is not cold enough, freezer is working fine, but has frost

Just had the same problem with my side-by-side.

In my case, the solution was to empty the freezer side, to access a back panel INSIDE the freezer covering the fan and cooling coils. Two screws held the back panel cover on, and when I removed the panel cover I found the cooling coils to be totally iced up, preventing the flow of cold air into the fridge side. I left the freezer open for a few hours until all the ice was melted, before replacing the inside panel. (I used a blow dryer to help speed up the ice melting).

Everything's working fine now for me - good luck with yours!

Yes. I would suggest the control board is possibly damaged.

change the adaptive defrost board located in the upper right corner of refrig under the panel. remove panel by pulling on panel towards you from the finger holes in the rear. remove two 1/4 inch screws and two phillips screws. defrost manually with hair dryer behind panel in freezer.
