When you insert a battery for charging, which light(s) combination do you see?. There should be red, green and yellow and different individual lights or combinations of lights mean different things. If only the red light goes on, chances are the batteries are to cold to charge. They will not charge below 32F so if your charger is in the garage, take the batteries in the house until they are room temp then try again. If you still have a problem and the unit or batteries are are less than 2 yrs old they should be be under warranty.

Ryobi 18 volt charger shows fully charged.

Question moved to a Ryobi category from MISC.

If they both show charged, they are unlikely to be incorrect. You can test the contacts of the batteries with a test meter, and you can also test the charger output.

If they don't work in a tool, the tool may have failed. Having said that, they do appear to have some history of this. Check out the videos.

Will a ryobi 18 volt charger replace a coleman powermate battery charger? What's your problem?

They look different in their shape where the battery goes so I would say no. To be safe always use the charger from the same manufacturer. There are a few different types of batteries too so it is always best to use the model number of your original charger to search for the replacement.

I was drilling and it just stopped working, is there a safety switch or something

If there wasn't a burnt smell signaling burning out the drill then you should be able to just recharge the battery

Battery charges but is dead

The battery isn't any good. The charger is just going through it's regular steps. (I know how it is. I just bought two Ryobi 18 volt batteries for my Ryobi cordless drill, reciprocating saw, flashlight,
trim circular saw, combo set. $60 for two batteries)

Ryobi lithium batteries won't take charge

For others with the same problem (flashing red light won't go off)...make sure you FIRMLY PUSH the battery down onto the charger and engage the latches. Simply resting the battery on the charger will not work.

Charger not charging

Just was on a website for Ryobi drills and it states that if the yellow and green light stay on for more than 15 minutes the battery is fried. Couldn't find the link but if you do a search for Ryobi Drill 18 volt you should find the same info. It was as product review from Australia I think.

I also have a problem with the charging of Ryobi batterys. They seem to charge AOK with the green light coming on but the charge does not last at all. Not sure if the problem is with the batteries on the charger.

Ryobi Circular Saw

unplug saw
new Ryobi have a spindle lock button, it is unobtrusive and you may miss it
739d802.gif If yours does not, secondhand etc, a screwdriver in the blade teeth between the upper and lower guards provides a locking bar enough to undo the arbor bolt
