Sony Vaio VGN-NW180J internal microphone problem. I recently installed a Terranek Magix Video external editing utilty. It worked fine except would not record sound of transfered VHS tape. I fiddled with the audio settings and eventually got it to work to chose Terratec utilty for incoming sound (as opposed to Skype). Now however the Skype microphone will not work and went thru ALL the audio controls settings and can fpund no internal microphone anywhere to adjust setings. Any idea what's wrong. VAIO help suggested installing Vaio Shared Library and a driver. Do not want to risk loosing the Terratec incoming audio because I need it urgently right now due to work to be done. Any idea please?

you'll need to check the actual audio device under control panel, device manager, to find what driver you'll need.

Your drivers might be incorrect. I have rechecked them again. If they don't work properly, you must check with it's driver properties. If you think it's still not working properly then try VAIO Recovery Center or visit VAIO Help Desk.

go to Control Panel and select Sound an Audio. There you will find option to change the mic under AUDIO.
