Turn power on and the standby light just flashes on my sharp xr-11xc. What am I doing wrong?

You will have to reset both the lamp and filter timer before it will change the status of this unit.

Your user manual will have all the steps in it on how to do the required resetting.

if it's under 1 year old, it's still under warranty, so send it in and get it fixed for free.

SOURCE: i just changed the bulb in my sharp xr-11xc. it

reset the lamp timer. hold down the menu, down arrow, and enter buttons, then press power.

SOURCE: sharp xr-1x is stuck in standby mode. just

hold down the menu, enter, and down arrow buttons then press the on button. this will reset the lamp timer. if it's not working, you may have a controller issue (main board).

SOURCE: i just replaced the lamp in my xr-11xc sharp

the colorwheel may be bad. if it doesn't spin, the lamp won't strike. if the colorwheel is ok, replace the power supply/ballast. you can get one and do it yourself, or send it to a sharp service center. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com. they're really good.
