When it's starting up, keep tapping F8 until the Safe Mode options show up on the screen and select Safe Mode.

How do I get my toshiba satellite L505 to stop starting up in safe mode?

Let it start in safe mode, Once it boots up click Start/Programs/ and look for the RUN prompt. It might be under the Accessories folder. Once you get RUN to open type msconfig and press OK.

When the System Configuration window opens Click on the "Boot.ini" tab at the top and make sure the /SAFEBOOT option is not selected. If it is, remove the check mark then hit OK. Reboot and see if it goes to normal.

Hi crazykillerc...

Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F8" as the laptop computer starts.
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.

There is an amber light that says on when my Toshiba Satellite L505-S6946 laptop is unplugged and (presumably) turned off. Anyone know what that means, and how to turn it off. Why don't they include...

you can get your manual, drivers and stuff here too

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2346343&rpn=PSLL0U&modelFilter=L505-S6946&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if this will help but a service manual is here to purchase this may explain what the amber light is for, though normally an amber light signifies standby mode

Toshiba Satellite L310 problem , display cannot appears

If the screen went blank after the driver install, sometimes clicking the mouse on the screen will bring the picture back. It sounds like the monitor is having a conflict with the resolution the driver is throwing out. Reboot the laptop and when you see the Toshiba splash screen, tap F8 until you see the multiple boot menu. Scroll to Safe Mode with networking and reboot. If the screen comes up, go to the control panel > System > hardware > display adapter > click on the plus sign and double click the reported adapter.click on driver tab and select roll back driver > click yes to any prompts and click ok. Reboot normally and see if that clears the problem.
