Slide a putty knife or other thin object between the top and front panels a couple inches in from either side. Press in and release the two spring clips holding the top panel and at the same time lift it up and lean it back. Remove the screws inside the front corners holding the front panel on. Place the new belt around the drum in about the same position as the old one was. Remove the lower rear panel to access pulleys. place belt around the motor pulley. Stretch the idler arm over and place belt around pulley. Reassemble.
SOURCE: How to open the dryer and replace the belt
all dryers open from the top so open the dryer door and look inside the top edge you will see two screws . remove the screws and lift the top panel . the front panel has two screws on the top one on the left and one on the right remove them both and lift up the front panel to remove it. the only way you can install the new belt is removeing the front panel because the belt goes around the drum from the front. once you remove the old belt out put the new one in . the belt goes around the drum from the front and then to the motor and idle roller . you can reach the idle roller from the front left corner or from the back of the dyer? i like to install them from the back cause its more easy. in the back of the dyer where the hose goes connected to the blower is the top with four screws remove the hose from the blower tube and remove the four screws. after you remove everything you should be able to see the dryer motor and idle rooler put the belt over the motor first then over the idle rooler .always make sure when you do this the dyer is unpluged and after your done plug it back and turn it on to make sure it runs correctly . if it runs ok put everything back together again.

U might want to look on the back of the dryer to see if there is a panel to take off. If not the hole top will have to come off. Is the top made on the rest of the dryer or is there a split between it.

1. remove top plastic panel (retaining screws are at back)
2. locate metal brace (12 incles long and 1/2 inch wide) on top of the cabinet (in mine it is on right edge)
3. unscrew retaining small bolts (there is one a few inches below on the inside of the cabinet too).
4. Repeat for left side.
5. push the back and front halves of the cabinet away from each other
6. slide the new belt around the front of the drum
7. reassemble
8. if you need to tension the belt wrap 10-20 turns of insulation tape around the idler pulley
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
The problem
can either be with the dryer belt that is either worn out or broken and needs
replacement. You can take it apart and check before replacing the belt. Please
get back to me if you have any other questions.

Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
Squeaking
sound from the dryer comes when the belt is either broken or worn out, before
replacing the belt also check the idler pulley because if that is bad then it
also needs replacement with the belt. Please get back to me if you have any
other questions.
