If I understand you correctly, you're saying that the LCD display shows a normal picture when you are composing your shot, but that when you actually snap the shutter to record the shot, the resulting image has nasty lines across it?
That would indicate that the lens is fine, but that the image sensor itself or associated electronics have gone bad. If this is out of warranty, then you're likely out of luck.
Pretty much the lines appear just if there is natural light coming into the photo. For example, if I am inside not near any windows, the picture will turn out pretty much normal. But then if I am outside, or inside near a window, that's when the lines and look of overexposure appear. This is regardless of the flash being on or off.
I'm not entirely certain about your description of the problem. However, if everything looks fine on your camera monitor before the picture is taken, then you know the lens and mechanism is okay. That leaves either the processing of the camera, determined in part by your your menu selections, or the sensor and electronics. If you have your menu selections set to auto white balance, auto exposure, auto ISO and any other auto features--the camera should be able to create a balanced image outdoors. It may have ugly color, but it should be exposed basically correctly and not have any weird lines or blown out areas of the image. If it does, your sensor or associated electronics are likely damaged.
Thank you
