I own a Samsung AV Surround Receiver AV-R720. I see that there are similar problems with this unit. The left front speaker started to crackle only to clear up within a minute or two. No the system's volume increases & decreases automatically. As of last night the audio sounds as if is muffled. Is there anything I may try to correct this problem or am I looking at an expensive repair?

Same here....as you look at the speakers, teh front one to the right of the TV started crackling then eventually stopped working and now all sound is muffled or non-existent. I find sites mentioning this flaw but no fix???????????? It is only 2 years old. I have exactly the same problem. The front right started crackling so i unplugged it cause I thought it was the wire but now, the sound is muffled, I can increase the volume to max and doesn't do anything and sometimes it goes up and down again and up without touching anything. I tried plugging the sound through optic (2 different wires) and component (red and white wire) I get the same problem. I have exactly the same problem.
