A friend gave me an old QFive bluetooth headset 2.0. He showed me how to pair it using another friends phone. But it didn't ask for a passkey. Now when I try to pair it with my Blackberry its asking for a passkey. I am un able to reach the friend who gave it to me, so now I am at a loss. Is there some way of resetting it?

Hello brandykilgor the universal pass key to any bluetooth is 0000. I f this universal pass key doesn't work use 1234. If you can't get this to work gointo the options menu on your bb and put it in discover mode. Look in the connections settings or look in the bluetooth options of your bb. Hope this little bit of information helps. IF your still having problems deelete the pairing out of the blackberry. Repair the bb and the bluetooth.

Bluetooth headsets have their passkeys hardcoded by their manufacturers. The most common one is '0000' (four zeros). Other possible codes are '1234' and '8888'. Hope one of these codes might work for you. You see, I wrote a generic bluetooth pairing procedure some time ago. You can find it here. Maybe you find it to be useful, somehow. Please, let me know if I can help you any further. Regards, Carlos

I had a friend give me his old bluetooth. I need pin # for my Boost mobile phone so I can operate it?

Try to put your headset in pairing mode, prior to trying to pair it with your phone. To do it, begin with it turned off. Then, if it is the first time it is being paired, just by turning it on (i.e. by pressing and holding the call button for some 2 seconds), it should enter the pairing mode. Otherwise, keep holding the call button past the turning on phase (a total of some 8 to 10 seconds), until its indicator light is flashing in red and blue, thus indicating it is in pairing mode. Either way within the next 2 minutes, make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a little while, your headset should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or passkey, or PIN) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, your headset should enter the stand-by mode. By the way, if its data sheet happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.
Really hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you any further .

Unpairing bluetooth headset without mobile???

You may be having compatibility issue instead of what you suspect may be wrong with both your phone and the Bluetooth headset your friend gave you.

Well, there is no such thing as a Bluetooth headset being permanently locked in to a phone.

As long as there is an open 'visible' Bluetooth connection option and there are devices in range ready to pair, the process to pair starts.

Whenever there are incompatibility issues, pairing two devices using Bluetooth becomes a hassle.

Im trying to set up my bluetooth on my cell phone. It finds my bluetooth an H700 motorola then I press pair and it says to ENTER PASSKEY, I dont know what it is. I tryed 1234 and it says failed to...

passkeys should be entered for both devices.
like when you are trying to paired your phone with you friend's
it would then asked to type in a passkey, you can type in any passkey you like but it should be same combination with your friend's. (so you can use 1234 punch in on yours and your friends need to use 1234 code punch in his phone, so both bluetooth device will be paired successfully).
