Model 106.53632300, 53634300. Freezer and fridge not cooling. No ice build up inside or moisture. I have verified that the doors close properly, lights are working, compressor is clicking on for 5-10 sec and turning off. Fan is blowing. NO water in drain pan, dispenser is working with cool water. Outside of fridge is cool to the touch. Of course no ice since the freezer is not cold enough. What else cacn I try?

you need to do an amp draw with your meter, clamp the run wire on the compressor, you should get 2-5 amp reading, any higher means the compressor is going bad, also should be a locked rotor amp(LRA) reading on comp.-mike

HI,

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.

thanks,

SOURCE: Water dispenser inside fridge and ice maker in freezer part in bottom both quit working.

There can be many reasons for no water supply. Line feeding the refrigerator is clogged or blocked. The water control valve that turns water to ice maker and dispenser is defective or the water filter located inside your refrigerator is in need of change. I will be here to help you go through the steps. Let me know when you are ready, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Whirlpool et1chmxkq03 quit making ice, freezer still cool but not freezing. fridge not cooling rite. water not coming into ice maker.

1st = try to determine why freezer is not freezing.
fridge is cooled from freezer.
water may not be flowing because freezer is not cold enough to make ice.

Verify freezer door is closing and seals are sealing. If you slam the fridge door closed and the freezer door moves there is a problem.

Why is my freezer not cold enough?

Check the freezer door seal is not leaky. Look for signs of moisture condensation along the door. Apply a thin film of Vaseline along door frame. This will make door seal stick better.

Also check there is no ice building up in freezer. This is a self defrosting fridge and built up of ice inside means warmer temperature. Lower the use of ice cubes from the ice maker to reduce load on compressor as this can effect freezer temperature.

Check freezer is not full of too many items causing reduction of air flow and hence reducing cooling effectiveness.

Drain clogged on MCBR415S

Unless that fridge has an automatic defrosting cycle, NO water should be collecting at the drain area under normal circumstances. The only time that drain is needed is during defrosting (manual or auto).
Does the unit ever turn the cool cycle off or is the fridge always running (does the fridge ever stop humming)? If the fridge is always running, ice will build up in the fridge and it is either because the thermostat is broken or the door is not sealing properly allowing the cold air to escape. This can be due to something inside the fridge is preventing the door from closing properly, the door itself being not properly aligned with the fridge compartment, a broken door seal or a bend door or a bend fridge frame.
Ice can build up fast when a fridge is installed in an area with high humidity (like in Florida) and the door is opened frequently (like every 5 minutes to get a beer out, like during a house party).
If the fridge door seems to seal properly and the fridge seems to keep things cool, it might be enough to defrost the fridge to get it back in proper operating condition.
When loading the fridge, allow enough space between items, to permit the air to circulate.
Good luck :)

Model # MFF2557HES Top refrigator section stoped cooling freezer is working

You may have Ice buildup in the freezer. You freezer has a fan in the bak that sends the cool air to the fridge. Your fridge dial determines how muh cold air comes from the freezer. Try defrosting the freezer. You may have to pull the back panel off of the inside of the freezer to get the ice thawed. The ice build up is likely causing the air to not get to the fridge. Hope it works.

On my Maytag side by side, stainless steel fridge, Model #: MSD2651KES. The freezer works perfectly, but the fridge will not get cold, but if you open the freezer it will start sending cold air to the...

Its defrost problem.--------- When you open the freezer door, then ice starts getting defrosted, because outside temperature is warm and due to that inside ice gets bit melted.--------- -------------- The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located. ----------- The damper is operated by a motor. Its a complete damper assembly with motor included in it.--The damper has door.Which closes and open with the help of motor. In your case the damper door is blocked by ice, because your refrigerator is not defrosting. But when you open the freezer door, the inside ice gets bit warm and it starts melting and this lets the fridge section get cool.------------------- In this case you will have to manually defrost the ice and inspect, if the problem solves. For manual defrost procedure, click the link below:-------- Click this below for more detail:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/refrigerator-is-not-cooling-properly.html ----------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Stop cooling every 5 days I defrost manual GSS201ETCBB

Does the freezer / fridge door close good? Check the hinges. Also check the seal and the amount of food stuff you may have close to the door. If you have an ice maker make sure you have it secured inside the freezer section.

It sounds like something is keeping the freezer door open or from closing good.

Freezer is building up frost and refrigerator is not cold enoough

Almost certainly, you have a leak within the freezer compartment.

The cooling system will use a divertor valve to concentrate coolant to the fridge or freezer compartment - whichever is necessary to maintain selected temperatures.

If a seal within either compartment is compromised and leaks then the coolant will be excessively diverted to that area in an attempt to lower it's temperature - the other section will suffer since more coolant is diverted to the weaker area; the weaker area that is being excessively cooled will also have more moist air circulating, hence moisture will contribute to a build up of ice - exacerbating the problem.

Ensure that both fridge and freezer doors are closing properly, if they appear to be secure then also check that the seals are airtight - there should be no ice accumulating around them.

You might need to re-align the doors, or less likely, replace the door seals.

Remove the back panel from the freezer to verify no ice behind the freezer panel. Look inside the air vent on the freezer panel for ice buildup. Make sure the freezer control is set to minimum not coldest freezer.. Make sure the freezer fan motor is working.

Ice build up

Check that the door is closing properly otherwise the freezer will be working overtime to cool and ice will form. If the door seal is good, it is possible that the thermostat needs to be checked.
