SOURCE: USB port problem

I would try first of all making sure that all of your drivers are up to date. I am saying this because it is always a good first step, but I am not 100% confident that this will fix it. There are a few updates that are listed as URGENT for your specific computer. The link to your drivers is below. The main one that concerns me is the Intel Chipset Driver located under chipset. This is listed as URGENT and may be a solution to your problem. The chipset is part of the motherboard that can be responsible for controlling your USB ports. If this does not remedy the situation I would contact Dell support for a possible solution.

SOURCE: my usb ports aren't working at all

try reinstalling the chipset drivers from

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&osl=EN&catid=27&impid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=PLX_GX620&hidos=WW1&hidlang=en

Select the Operating system
The Category as Chipset
Importance should be All
Click on the Intel driver
Download now
File name is R132539.EXE

If this does not work you will be having 2 usb at the back and in the front of the system.IF the back does not work than you need to get a local tech out at your place as it is a problem with the USB controller on the motherboard and that might have to be replced .If it is the front USB (Only if you have them) then there is a cable coming from the USB controller to the fromnt usb ports that cable might have got unplugged for that you need to open the tower. But i would still recommend a local tech.

SOURCE: can't download the lan drivers for optiplex gx270

The drivers are not always kept at the computer manufacturers website. Most are kept at the brand name hardware web site. To find out the name of your Network Adapter click on start>right-click my computer>click on properties>hardware tab>then Device Manager. Scroll down until you see network adapter click on the "+" sign and the network adapter brand name will be there. You can right-click on the brand name then click update drivers. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of anymore help.

SOURCE: i cant find vista drivers for dell optiplex gx270 pc

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model laptop are located. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system.

Forgot password dell optiplex gx270 how do I bypass the password

If a keyboard fails it is due to damage to the contacts or connection, and many times it is from abuse, water or other fluids entering the board spaces, or burnout. Replacement is easy, and boards are not expensive. If you do not wish to replace the Keyboard, use a USB standard keyboard used on any computer. Simply plug a USB Keyboard into any USB port of the Desktop or Portable. Done!

Shut down the computer, disconnect ALL USB connections front and back.
  1. Plug in just the keyboard USB cable and start the computer. If it does not work, try moving the USB plug for the keyboard and trying again. If you can't find ANY USB port that works, then your motherboard is probably fried.
  2. Once the computer comes up with just the keyboard, plug in the mouse and wait for it to work (should be almost immediately). If it does not work in one USB port, try another until it works... wait several seconds after plugging it in before deciding whether it works or not.
  3. Once you have a working keyboard and mouse, begin plugging in any other USB devices, one at a time and verifying that each device works. As with the keyboard and mouse, if it does not work in one port, try another.
    1. Note that some devices may take several seconds or up to a minute to fully be discovered and set up and you may have to respond to something on the screen.

Im tryin to connect my USB in the computer to put my pictures on the computer but it wont let me ???/

Hello

A few questions that may confirm problem.
Does your computer seem to know that something is plugged in?
Or does it say that it does not recognize the device?

Well, if the computer actually knows that a device has been plugged in, but you just cannot see the device in my computer, here is how you fix that. Just follow these steps:
Control panel
Administrative tools
Computer management
Storage
Disc management

Now you should see your device presented in the schematic below.
Right click on the device and assign a new drive letter.

If your computer states that it does not recognize the device, try plugging it in one of the back USB ports of the computer. Please rate this.

Best regards
