I cant hear any audio in my system (win XP)

The audio driver which was in the MB CD was applicable then but by now it must have released an updated version. So visit the MB manufacturers web site, enter your Model and select your OS to get the latest driver.......sodeep

Mother board cd

no, to format you just need OS CD, such as windows, Linux, Mac or others
motherboard CD is only contain the driver to run system of it including sound card, Video, Lan, modem, PCMCIA, or any components on your computer....
except your motherboard vendor gives you one more CD's, it called "recovery CD's".
recovery CD's is back up CD of your OS from the vendor, it including first OS, and motherboard driver also, so if you have it, you just have to boot the recovery CD,...no need to using OS CD

Lost mother board drivers

When you first load the PC get ready to press the Pause key. As soon as you get display press the pause key. You should be able to see the Name & model number of your board. Write that down & post that information here. Or is the name "Mercury" & the model " PVCLE266"? This is listed on you're post above the statement " Lost mother board drivers"? If you are able to get into you're bios's main menu. Some bios's list the model number under system information.
