Check drain hose for debris, kinks, and partial blockages. check float sensor. Make sure it moves freely. check chopper to see if full of debris ...
I understand your Electrolux dishwasher, model# EIDW5905JS, will not completely drain at the end of the cycle. It is not normal for water to remain in the bottom of the tub at the end of a cycle. If water remains in the bottom of the tub at the end of a cycle, the dishwasher may not be draining properly. Please follow these troubleshooting tips:
1)If unit is hooked up to a garbage disposal, make sure the disposer is empty.
2)If unit is hooked up to a new food waste disposer, check to see if the "knockout" plug located inside the disposal inlet has been removed.
3)Check to see if drain hose is kinked.
4)Make sure cycle is complete, not in a pause.
I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher shuts off near the end of the cycle, leaving water in the bottom of the tub. I also see that the display is going black. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. When power is restored, run any cycle. If you are still noticing your dishwasher shutting off towards then end of the cycle and water being left in the tub, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing it to shut off and not drain. Hope this is helpful.
Whenever an appliance does operate its pumps/valves heaters correctly for part of a cycle then doesnt at another point, it is a problem with the controller of the sequence in the cycle.. On older devices this can be a rotating knob that slowly runs to end of cycle triggering events as it turns, by tripping blade switches near the rotating item. On these the switch trigger points can be inspected and sometimes repaired. On newer items the cycle is controlled electronically, and you have to replace the whole control unit, which is usually a large expensive part that includes the display and all buttons. Try getting a used control unit from Ebay and swapping it out, or consider replacing the whole appliance.
The selenoid that opens/closes drain function id burned out. Your local appliance parts store can provide a replacement selenoid and tell you exactly how to replace it.
hi Richardcr1. After having examined many dishwashers that were replaced because they wouldn't drain, the largest percentage of them were simply because of a clogged drain hose or pump strainer. Too many people seem to think that the dishwasher is first cousin to a garbage disposal. It is not.30 Apr 2010

Unplug the appliance from power, or trip the circuit breaker and cut power to the appliance for about five minutes.
While appliance is unplugged check that the drain hose is not kinked and empty water from inside the machine.
Let me know if you still have the problem when you connect the appliance back. If the appliance does not start back, then there is a faulty part, in that case give me the model number as printed on service tag and tell me when the appliance had been purchased, also tell me the country of purchase.
it is probably going to be a grimy door thermostat between the inner and outer panel. its hooked into the back of the soap dispenser. someone would have to take the outer panel off then clean wipe away the caked grime from the thermostat and put it back in its place. if this doesnt fix it then it could be a heat assembly problem or timer problem. in that case you would need an appliance tech out
to check pump is ok, cancel cycle and restart - first action is to pump out. could be that appliance is in fact sticking in cycle usually due to not heating so check if this is the case
