Safari will not download iOS 4.3

an update of iOS is not done with safari!
the update procedure depends on the model of your iPad:
For the iPad first generation (A1219) to update is only possible with connecting the device to iTunes on a computer.
- but this model supports only iOS 5
- NO iOS 6/7/8
--------------------
for all other models:
There are two ways to upgrade the iOS version of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch - via connecting the device to iTunes on a computer
- or directly from within the device, but only since iOS 5, it is possible to upgrade the iOS version without the need to connect the iOS device to a computer (over-the-air update)
just go to: settings - general - software update

What are the common problems with Apple OSX Mountain Lion?

Hello Patrick,

The most common problems I've experienced with Mountain Lion are the following:
  • Reduced battery life. I've noticed about an hour to an hour and a half cut off from my battery life of my Macbook Pro. I'm not sure if this applies to you since you have a Macbook Air, but my recommendation is to try a reinstall if you experience battery problems and turn off some of the extra features like Twitter integration and iCloud when you're not using them.
  • Safari is crashing. Safari is a browser that used to have little respect but now has actually gotten pretty decent. However, with Mountain Lion it actually crashes a lot more than usual. I don't have a fix for it offhand, but I would recommend just using Chrome (which I use anyways) or Firefox. And stay away from Explorer!
  • Free upgrades to Mountain Lion. When I got my free upgrade to Mountain Lion (if you purchased a Mac after June 11, 2012 you can get one too) it took Apple about 5 days to upgrade me to Mountain Lion. This is a super low priority problem, but it's still something I hope they're working on.
  • Notes synchronization. I have answered this on FixYa already, you can find it on the site.

Best of luck.

I need to reinstall Safari for XP. I deleted (uninstalled Safari this morning and now need to reinstall it.

To Download Safari:
1) Go to http://www.apple.com/safari/
2) Click "Safari 5 Free Download"
3) Uncheck the checkbox labeled "Keep me up to date... etc."
4) Be sure the button labeled "Safari 5.0.4 for Windows XP, Vista or 7" is selected
5) Click the blue button labeled "Download Now"
6) On the popup window, click the button labeled "Save"
7) Navigate to your desktop in the new window and click "Save" once more

To Install Safari:
1) Double click the icon which reads "SafariSetup.exe" on your desktop
2) Windows XP MAY ask if you're sure you wish to run this program depending on your security settings. If you see this popup, click "Yes" or "Run".
3) Click "Next"
4) Click the button labeled "I accept the terms in the license agreement"
5) Click "Next"
6) Uncheck the checkbox labeled "Install Bonjour for Windows" unless you are absolutely sure you need this additional program.
7) Click "Install"
8) Click "Finish"

Safari is now installed on your machine. Keep in mind that deleting an icon from your desktop does not uninstall a program. If you accidentally delete your desktop icon, this can easily be replaced through the start menu.

The Safari browser on my EMaC is apparently

The first thing I'd try would be to delete its .plist settings file.

1. Click on Finder (the smiley Mac guy).
2. Click the "Go" menu at the top of the screen.
3. Click "Home". This will open a window showing your Home folder.
4. Double-click the "Library" folder.
5. Double-click the "Preferences" folder.
6 Look for the file called-> com.apple.safari.plist and drag it to the trash (or click once on it and press Command-delete).
7. Now run Safari and see if it works.

You can also probably (depending on the version of Safari):
1. Reset Safari from the Safari menu at the top of the screen *when you're running Safari*.'

If your operating system is Mac OS X 10.3 or earlier, upgrading to 10.4 will (in addition to lots of improvements) allow you to use a newer version of Safari.

Good luck and please let us know how well this works. Please rate me if this solved your problem. If not, please repost and we'll give further help.
