Since it has a dual core and pre-installed with Vista Home Premium - about five years ago for Toshiba Satellite L45-S7419 15.4-inch Laptop. For the toshiba satellite pro l450d - about a couple years ago.

Format the drive, then install an operating system such as xp, or
windows 7 .... it should install most of the correct drivers. If you have the original disks that came with the computer, use those.You may
have to go to the manufactures website to find the exact drivers for the
video and sound cards., but that should pretty much return it to
factory settings. If you are really picky and have the bucks, you can
contact TOSHIBA for the original disks.

Try this first:
Boot the system up and hold down the'Esc' key, then press F1 when you get the check system message. You are then in the BIOS Setup and you can make your changes and save and exit by pressing the 'End' key
If that doesn't work try holding F2 on bootup.
