I just had this happen to me.. i was standing in my kitchen and heard a snap then something rattle to the bottom of the unit. I can only assume the locking latch for the door snapped off. I don't know if i should pay to have it serviced or just buy a new one... it will prob cost the same!

Frigidaire troubleshooting key pad seems to be stuck on child lock

If you have your owner's manual, read the section on how to disable the child lock. If that doesn't work the touchpad could be defective.

How do I unlock the key panel

Opening the door while the oven is cooking will greatly shorten the life of the door switches and lead to failure.
Always hit "Stop" first unless the recipe calls for it.
The instructions for the child lock are in the owner's manual.
To set the lock, press Stop/Clear, then hold the "0" pad for more than four seconds. You will hear two beeps and the display will show "LOCKED".

To unlock, hold the "0" pad for more than four seconds. You will hear two beeps and the display will no longer show "LOCKED".

Key pad flashing se . key pad locked pease tell me what to do iam a disabled lady need help please

"SE" error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

You would need to have either the membrane keypad itself replaced, or the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad, or the whole controller.

Part numbers and prices will of course depend on the model number.

How to unlock digitals butons?

Hi there,

It sounds like you've activated the child-lock - this would disable all of the digital buttons.

To switch the child-lock OFF, simply press and hold the START button for about 4-5 seconds until "LOCKED" disappears from the display.

To switch the child-lock ON, press "STOP/CLEAR" button once, then press and hold the START button for about 4-5 seconds until "LOCKED" illiminates on the display.

If the buttons aren't working and "LOCKED" is not displayed, then you may have a defective touch control pad.

Hope this helps - please let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

Controlpanel flashes f 3

You have a faulty keypad. You could probably special order this part from a local appliance parts supply store for 50-60$ or purchase a new microwave.

Microwave, Panasonic model #NN-S951WF will not start. Electrical receptacles working. The fuse connected to the power cable has continuity. This has happened before but only briefly and when the unit...

If you have a display and the inside light comes on when you open the door, it won't be the fuse.

First, please press and hold the Start pad for about 4 seconds to see if the child lock comes on. (This is detailed in the owner's manual).

If it does, that means the pad on the keypad is okay, and you can press and hold Stop to turn it off.

If it does not, then you may have a bad keypad.

I would suggest a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

You are correct to suspect the door switches, especially if the Start pad is okay.

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

Sharp R-1450 microwave

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or occasionally a problem on the control panel.

On these, it's usually a broken tab on the upper switch holder.

That sounds like what's happening when you hold the Start pad - maybe you're moving the frame and chassis enough to help it work.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

You can probably find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number here at the Sears parts site.

The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.
