Battery doors are almost impossible to find online. I'd contact Fuji by telephone to see if they retail themselves, if not, i'd try and use the broken battery door to somehow replace the elastic band.

My Nikon Coolpix L24 camera's battery compartment spring-loaded latch is operational. However, the lock appears to be missing or broken and the door won't stay shut.

I had the same problem. I found out that the rubber band that is used for celery can be wrapped twice around the camera. Works great.

The battery door catch has broken

On most cameras you can hold the catch closed with an elastic band around the body of the camera, if necessary with a small square of cardboard over the hatch itself, or several bands, if the hatch actually holds the batteries in place. At least you will be able to use the camera, even if it does look a bit untidy!

Kenmore elite washer metal band on gray seal

The retaining ring inserts into a groove in the rubber seam around the perimeter of the door where it attaches to the door frame. To reinstall, first make sure the door boot is fitting snugly around the door frame opening. Sometimes when the retaining spring comes loose, the rubber may pull away from the door frame. Beginning at the top of the door, start inserting the wire hoop back into the groove. Make sure the wire spring points towards the bottom. As you work your way around the door to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions, you will need to maintain some constant downward pressure while pulling the spring apart in order to snap it back into place with your thumbs. It would be advisable to use a second set of hands to hold the wire hoop in place while doing this as it has the tendency to want to come out of the groove.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

The plastic cover on my Coolpix 5200 has broken

Is that the battery compartment, use rubber bands to hold them together!? If this is the problem, I am thinking of a solution that works yet! If you have problems with that back contact put aluminium foil on the contacts.

I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and the battery door catches (on the body of the camera) have broken off. Replace complete body assy??? I am sure mine is not the only one. any help appreciated.

I had this problem also (see below).

After getting poor results with the duct tape solution, I discovered another work-around. This should work whether it is chipped lugs on the door or on the body.

Firstly I used an old camera flash bracket that screws into the tripod socket, and this holds the battery door in place quite securely. However it was too long, so I cut and filed a piece of aluminium 25mm (1") wide by 2.5mm thick to the right length (around 100mm/4") and shape, and made a hole for the bracket screw.

End result is not exactly like new, but more functional than the duct tape and does not further damage the actual camera:

My Olympus fe-170 6.0 megapixel Digital camera

See if you can unscrew the battery door and find out exactly what the problem is.
Use the proper tools - screwdriver etc., etc. Check for any blockages - debris etc., etc. If the door is not broken you may just have to put it back on and tighten the screws that hold it closed.

I have a Kodak Easy Share Camera ANd I have a charger, had this for 2 years and now the charger shows green when charged but will not open the lense

Mine did the same thing and I found out that the battery door was not completely closing. I put a rubber band around it to put pressure on the little battery door and it worked. My son's camera did the same thing.

How to replace battery cover for Kodak Dx6440

We had the same problem dropping the camera, and ordered a pair of new battery covers. I was able to install this by carefully removing the cover screws and slipping the pins into their slots. I am sure you probably got it by now.

This problem was before the one posted about start and then die. The "expert" response posted was worthless. This whole website seems to be a collection of anecdotal semi-worthless stuff.

Perhaps other topics may contain more relevant valuable commentary.
