There are a lot of good books. What's best for you would depend on many factors, including how much experience you have or don't have with photography in general and with other Nikons or SLRs.

Below are some recommendations. You might want to browse through a good bookstore and take a look at some of them.

David Busch, "David Busch's Nikon D3000 Guide to Digital SLR Photography"

Julie Adair King, "Nikon D3000 For Dummies"

Jeff Revell, "Nikon D3000 : From Snapshots to Great Shots"

Jon Sparks, "Nikon D3000: the Expanded Guide"

J. Dennis Thomas, "Nikon D3000 Digital Field Guide"

Darrell Young, "Mastering the Nikon D3000"

In addition, there is a free video tutorial on Nikon's web site:

Is this a good camera for beginner photo enthusiasts.....want to create books and albums for my family...like journals..use it to tell a story i'm a granny not a techno person but very willing to learn

This is a great camera, fun to use and fairly simple. Yes there is a learning curve with anything that's new (digital). The manufacturer(s) seam to pack a whole lot of unnecessary features into their products to in their minds remain one step ahead of the competition. In a most cases the user becomes intimidated and frustrated. They then just put the camera in "auto" mode and go ahead taking pictures never learning the full potential and creative abilities of their cameras. If you have had previous experience with film cameras then the transition will feel almost seamless. By learning and understanding the features of your camera (learning curve) you will be able to do just about anything you want with this camera from short video clips to beautiful still images and be able to have digital prints made. So to answer your question directly "Yes" this is a good camera for an enthusiast. Cheers have fun with your new camera

Purchased Casio Keyboard CTK-4000...it seems complicated for beginners (Piano) Instruction Manual is not clear. Need a "101" type manual for the instrument. ---cannot find any manuals in...

Check for videos on YouTube. Also check for user's BLOGs for the Casio using Google. here usually isn't enough market for people to write 101 books as the technology and models change so fast.

Best way is to just dig in and try stuff and self-discovery results in learning stuff that sticks with you.

I have a nikon d7000 from a gift and i never used a dsl camera before, how do i learn to use?

You can start with the online tutorial on Nikon's web site at
http://www.nikondigitutor.com/eng/d7000/index.html

You might also visit your local library or bookstore and browse through the photography section. There are plenty of books on introductory photography, introductory DSLR photography, and other topics. The manual does a great job of explaining what each of the controls do, but doesn't do so great a job of explaining why you'd want to change these things. It's like the owner's manual for a car: you wouldn't want to learn how to drive just by reading it.

And most important: go out and take pictures! You're not paying for film and processing, so take a lot of pictures and look at them on your computer. Experiment, see what the different settings do.
