On occasion I will be unable to turn off my JVC Model AV-2659S. And then all of a sudden the same way it wouldn't turn off, it starts working properly. I have checked all the settings and can't figure out why it does that. Any ideas?
It may be that the switch is worn out and needs to be replaced. Or your TV may have "Windex syndrome." This happens when people clean the screen by spraying on Windex and wiping it off like cleaning a window, and some of it runs down and gets on the circuit board front edge where the switches are. It can cause corrosion which leads to intermittent operation, strange behavior, or total failure of buttons. Best cure is to remove the board, inspect it, clean any corroded connections, replace the switches, and check the values of some of the small parts in that area. They can all be affected.
