Clear the paper jam Followthese steps in the order presented to clear the paper jam. Step one: Remove any loose paper: Remove any loose sheets of paper from the input tray and theoutput tray. Take note: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Trying to clear jammed paper from the front of the product can damage the print mechanism. Step two: Clear the jam from therear of the product Take note : Never pull jammed paper from the front of the product. If you can pull it from the rear of the product or the tray, always try the rear first. Pulling paper from inside the front cover can cause mechanical damage to the product. 1. Pressthe Power button ( ) to turn off the product. 2. Disconnectthe USB cable from the rear of the product. 3. Disconnectthe power cord from the rear of the product. 4. Pressin the tab on the left side of the rear door to release the door. Remove thedoor by pulling it away from the HP All-in-One. Use both hands to pullout any whole sheets of paper to avoid tearing them. Take Note: Use a flashlight to thoroughly check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more jams are likely to occur. Figure2: Remove scraps of paper Replacethe rear access door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place. Step three: Clear the jam from theautomatic document feeder (ADF) 1. Openthe cover of the ADF. Figure 3: Open the cover of the ADF 1. Gentlypull the paper out of the rollers. CAUTION: If the paper tears when you are removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product. If you do not remove all the pieces of paper from the product, more paper jams are likely to occur. 2. Closethe cover of the ADF. Step four: Clear the jam from thefront of the product 1. Lookinside the product through the paper output tray to check if any loose or tornpaper is stuck in the rollers. 2. Gentlypull the paper out of the rollers. You must Remove paper from the front of the product as carefully as possible. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more paper jams are likely to occur, and this could damage the print mechanism. Use a flashlight to make sure that you find all traces of paper. 3. Reconnectthe power cord to the rear of the product. 4. Pressthe Power button ( ) to turn on the product. Check the following steps for fixing Hp Carriage Jam Error :
Open the print carriage access door. Check for any packing material that may be blocking the internal components. Check for an orange shipping lock that may still be in place on the left side. Pull the shipping lock out, if present, and discard.
Remove and reinstall the cartridges to make sure they are properly installed. Lift the front center of the print carriage access door to open it. Lift the door up until it locks into an open position. Press down on a print cartridge and allow it to spring back up. Lift the cartridge out of the printer. Do the same for the other cartridge. Slide the black cartridge into the slot on the left and the color cartridge into the slot on the right. Press down on each one to lock it into place. Lower the print carriage access door.
Check the print cartridges to make sure the protective tape has been removed from the ink nozzles. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove any tape or labels. Replace the cartridges into the printer.
Push in on the tab on the left side of the clean-out door on the back of the printer to open the door. Lift the door out of the printer. Check for any paper jams. Jammed paper can block the printer cartridge carriage from moving. Pull any jammed paper out.
