I recently added on two xbox 360's with wireless capabilities onto my D-link D-524 routers network. One has built in wireless and the other has the wireless adapter with the antennae...they were both able to automatically connect without any configuration. . The problem is that now the other home PC which used to connect to the wireless network before via a D-link GWL-D122 Wireless adapter no longer connects. It is able to detect my wireless network but cannot establish a connection. It says "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be i range. please refresh the list of available networks, and try connect again" The comp is in range (4 bars) and I have refreshed and tried to no avail. I tried to open my Dlink Airport Plus app and I go this messege "procedure entry point apsSearchInterface could not be located in the dynamic linklibrary wlanapi.dll" What is happening!? I appreciate any help

SOURCE: Cannot connect to my network

If it happens to be a Dell, I think they have a specific configuration or something that has to be changed. For that I'm pretty sure you have to contact Dell, or look on their website.
The way that some routers are set up you have to have a certain pass phrase to access the wireless connection. And make sure, by opening the wireless network monitor, the icon should be in the lower right hand corner by the clock. That you are connecting to the correct user account on the router. Some router configurations require a different user account for each wireless device connecting to it. Or the computer trying to connect you may have to manually select from that menu in the wireless network monitor..

For gaming it is best to use WEP personal, if you are try connecting with a computer. A linksys or cisco router is ideal.

Cant hook xbox 2 wireless router

I'm going to assume that you are talking about the New Xbox 360 Slim that has wireless capabilities. You must go into your settings and go to the network settings. When you choose to connect wireless-ly, choose your routers signal, and if it has a passcode you must enter this in to connect to your router. If you are using the older "fatboy" xbox, you cannot connect to a wireless router unless you purchase the xbox wireless network adapter. Please note that you cannot use the wireless network on the new xbox slim if you have a network cable plugged into your console!

Setup your Xbox to a Wireless Network

Xbox game consoles can be connected <span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span> to a router<a href="http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/routers/g/bldef_router.htm"></a> for wireless access to the Internet and Xbox Live. Follow these instructions to set up the Xbox or Xbox 360 connections to a wireless home network.<br /><br /> <ol> <li>Connect the appropriate wireless network adapter<a href="http://compnetworking.about.com/od/hardwarenetworkgear/g/bldef_adapter.htm"></a> to the console. On the Xbox, a Wi-Fi adapter that connects to the Ethernet sometimes also called a wireless network bridge must be used. Alternatively, the Xbox 360 is also designed to work with certain Wi-Fi <i>game adapters</i> that connect to a USB port.<br /><br /></li> <li>Turn on the console and navigate to the wireless settings screen. On the Xbox, the menu path is "Settings -&gt; Network Settings -&gt; Advanced -&gt; Wireless -&gt; Settings" On the Xbox 360, the menu path is "System -&gt; Network Settings -&gt; Edit Settings."<br /><br /></li> <li>Set the SSID (network name) on the Xbox to match that of the wireless router. If your wireless router has enabled SSID broadcast, the SSID name should appear pre-selected on the Xbox display. Otherwise, select the "Specify Unlisted Network" option and enter the SSID there.<br /><br /></li> <li>Specify "Infrastructure" as the Network Mode. (Infrastructure is the mode used by wireless routers.)<br /><br /></li> <li>Set the Security Type to match that of the wireless router. If your router uses WPA encryption and the type of adapter connected to the Xbox does not support WPA, you will need to change your router settings to use WEP encryption instead. Note that the standard MS Xbox Adapter supports WPA while the standard Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter (MN-740) only supports WEP.<br /></li> <li>Save your settings and verify the network is functional.<br /><br /> On the Xbox, the Wireless Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made with the wireless router, and the Connect Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made through the Internet to Xbox Live.<br /><br /> On the Xbox 360, use the "Test Xbox Live Connection" option instead.</li></ol> Tips: <ol> <li>Even when your wireless connection between the Xbox and the router is working perfectly, you may still experience difficulty connecting to Xbox Live. These issues can be caused by the quality of your Internet connection or the firewall and Network Address Translation (NAT) settings of your wireless router. Additional troubleshooting may be required in these areas to achieve reliable Xbox Live connections.</li></ol><span style="font-weight: bold;">Troubleshooting</span><br /><br /> The built-in diagnostic of the Xbox can help with any falure.Navigate to the <i>System</i> area of the Xbox Dashboard, select the <i>Network Settings</i> menu option, then select <i>Test Xbox Live Connection</i> to run the test at any time. If the Xbox 360 built-in network diagnostic fails with the following message: <br /> <ul><i>Technical configuration error. Please contact Xbox Customer Support.</i></ul> This indicates a network issue requiring further investigation. The Xbox 360 network diagnostic contains the following tests run in the order listed below. If your wireless router is not near your console, you may get a better wireless signal by using a wireless networking adapter. When you connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to an Xbox 360 S console, the console will automatically use the wireless adapter instead of the built-in Wi-Fi.<br /> If you have an original Xbox 360 console, you need to attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter before you can connect your console to a wireless network.<br /><br /> Step 1: Attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of your Xbox 360 console.<br /> Step 2: If a network cable is plugged into the back of your console, unplug it. If you do not have a router that you can plug directly into the back of the Xbox 360 then yes you will need to purchase a wireless router to sync up with your wireless router that you already have downstairs. You didn't specify if your broadband router had wireless capabilities? Does it? If not then you will need to buy a wireless router to be able to hook up your Xbox 360.

Microsoft has their own personal wireless router that fits on the back of the Xbox 360 nicely. I would recommend you purchase it due to ease of installation and compatability.

Here is a link to an example of what it looks like: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/accessories/xbox-360-wireless-n-networking-adapter/76045?ref=recpdp&cross=802124

And a cheaper older model: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/accessories/xbox-360-wireless-network-adapter/40678

And here is a link to Xbox step by step wirless hookup: http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-live/get-started/connecting/wireless.aspx

If you are having specific issues then ask away and I can see what I can do to help you out. Try to be specific on what your current setup is and what problems you are having. thanks.

In order to do that you would have to plug this into your xbox 360, not your computer. HOWEVER, Microsoft only supports their own wireless adapter for the xbox 360 .... this one: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter-Networks/dp/B000B6MLV4

I have also heard that wireless gaming can have lesser results. But if you want to do Xbox Live wireless, you will have to have a router and Microsoft's XBOX wifi adapter shown in the link above.

To connect to Xbox live, your best bet is to (if you dont have one) get a router, connect it to your Internet modem, and plug it into the xbox 360 using an ethernet cable.

Link Your Console to Another Console

Console-to-Console Connection: Wireless Some Xbox games offer console-to-console, or system-link, play, in which two or more players (depending on the game) can wirelessly network their consoles for multiplayer use. Console-to-console wireless networks are also known as ad-hoc networks. In ad-hoc networks, a wireless adapter on one device connects directly to a wireless adapter on another device. An Internet connection isn't shared with this type of network, and the console-to-console connection is typically temporary. For console-to-console play, you need: Two Xbox 360 consoles. Two Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapters. An Xbox 360 game that supports system link play. To wirelessly connect your console to another console: Attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of each console as described in Use Your Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter. On each console, go to the System area to enter your network settings. (They will be the same for each console.) If all settings are correct, exit the System area. The consoles should now be wirelessly connected to each other.
