Display E2 and F3-oven locked automatically on a Whirlpool built in oven GBD307

The F3 E2 error means that the oven high temperature sensor is reporting an over-temperature event. This could be a problem with the sensor, the oven control unit or the wiring. The oven needs to be unplugged (or the circuit breaker turned off) and then you can check the sensor. Since this is a built-in oven, you may want to get a professional to look at it. The oven has to be pulled out of the cabinet; if you do it yourself, make sure to get another person to help.

You need to open the rear access panel that covers the control (ERC) and the lower panel over the back of the range. Then find the sensor and trace it's wiring up to the ERC. Disconnect the wires from the ERC. Then with a multimeter, check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor. It should give a reading of 1000-1200 Ohms. Then the ERC may be faulty.

However, some people report that just disconnecting and then reconnecting the wiring will solve the issue. In that case, a bit of debris may have gotten into the wiring harness.

I hope this helps.

Whirlpool GR396LXGQ oven comes on by itself & goes into clean cycle, code reads E2 -F3-

Whirlpool F3 faults relate to temperature problems in the oven. In the case of the error E2-F3, F3 is the general fault code and E2 is the specific error code. An E0-F3 error indicates that the oven's temperature sensor is open; E1-F3, that the temperature sensor is shorted; E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 575 degrees Fahrenheit in "Cook" mode; and E3-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 950 degrees Fahrenheit in the clean mode. Here is the probe to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Kenmore gas oven says E2 F3

Hi

F3-E2 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
